The left would have an ideal opportunity to make sure we lost. Democrats would have daily riots, they would help facilitate a total assault on our borders. Organized gangs would be following democrat instructions and set massive fires, bomb our infrastructure and power stations. Democrat organized children's protest groups would block freeways and highways. Gangs would be using Russian supplied drones to block air travel and attack planes.

It might be a real short war.

Russian supplied drones- sounds like the kind of deal Trump would arrange as he turned over the keys to America.

Not sure what your point is- Japan attacked the United States at Pearl Harbor, Guam and American forces across the Pacific.

So we should have done nothing and let the war and misery continue? War is hard. The world is ugly... and you’re a hypocrite. People in the South Pacific are suffering for reasons beyond their control, yet you believe white people should suffer for reasons beyond their control.

No you should have continued the war since it was going to end shortly anyway. That sounds like a distinctly white sentiment. The world is here to provide for you. Whites seem to have a penchant for messing it up. Trying to tell me what I think is misleading and childish since thats not what I said. Now that you mention it though I dont worry much about whites suffering. I do worry about what whites do to others.

I don't know of any technological way that any country could 'win' a nuclear war- in best case scenario with our current technology most major cities would be destroyed along with a huge amount of our infrastructure and the fall out would result in the deaths of millions.

Of course there are the idiots who think they would survive and prosper in a Mad Max post apopalytic former America......but most of us would be dead within 10 years.

Military occupation is preceded by an attack, regardless of how relatively passive, and the Japanese were engaged in the progressive occupation of the entire South Pacific when they attacked Pearl Harbor. The fact is Japan had attacked and occupied China and the Philippines and was in the process of attacking everyone in the South Pacific when we responded defensively. Because if we didn't they would have gotten around to us very soon.

I doubt we have that good of anti-nuke capability- how many AEGIS ships do we have?
But lets say you are correct:
Lets do the math:
Russia has 1,950 active strategic nuclear warheads.

Half of 1950 is 975 warheads being launched.
1/4 of that is 243.

Not Hiroshima level nukes- but big nukes. Every major American city gone- all the way down to Arlington Texas.

I don't think anyone who survived would call that 'winning'.

Nor any Russians left either.

In general I agree with you.

The only nit I have to pick is that Japanese strategy never contemplated invading the United States- or even defeating the United States. I completely agree with the majority of America's actions during WW2 including Hiroshima(Nagasaki is slightly more grey), but there was never a chance of Japan actually occupying the United States unless Germany also succeeded in winning in Europe.

While it might "feel good" to say that, one of the first rules in the art of war is to never make the mistake of underestimating your enemy.....no matter how good it might make you feel.

I remember people over the last 25 years or so constantly saying China is a joke and will never be any kind of military threat to the US.
Underestimating the enemy.....once again.

It's also good not to OVER estimate yourself. Our nukes and even our planes are not where they should be. Our planes are constantly grounded or falling out of the sky.

It's not the 40's or 50's any more and the USA does not have the financial advantages it had then. Nor did it have the burdens on it's revenues then as it does now. Nope. It's a totally different scenario today.

And last but not least, the USA hasn't been challenged by a military rival since WWII.
All our battles have been against MUCH lesser foes. And we didn't even really win all those.
Vietnam....Korea....ISIS....
