No, they are not. They are government run institutions, but the classroom has never been considered a "public space". Only people who are supposed to be there can be there, teachers, students, invited guests, administrators.

And accurate history lessons are the legal part of that curriculum. Leaving out, or omitting any detail of that history is illegal, and should be challenged. Any school board member or administrator should be immediately fired if it is demonstrated that they purposely, knowingly, and willingly omitted any detail of any specific lesson. The state should also be sued by any parent that can demonstrate the willful omission of any detail, as it causes irreparable harm to the student.
