Why do liberals love the past??

The Founders worked very hard to create a national, united government, .

most importantly not national govt but a federal govt that was very very tiny, in fact 1% the size of todays on a per capita inflation adjusted basis. We know this exactly from the numbers and from how the founders governed as presidents!

Conservatives love the present. They love the freedom from govt that our revolutionary Founders gave us while liberals love the past where huge central, bloody governments shaped human history for 1000's of years.

You say one thing, then support the opposite. If you love the small federal government that was around in pre-FDR times then you love the past. The national government here in the present is much bigger and complex then anything in the past.

think in 200-1000 year periods. Liberals want to go back to when history was shaped by all powerful central govts that progressed quickly. Our founders were the exact opposite

The Founders worked very hard to create a national, united government, and not 13 fractious states that were independent of each other.

They also had to create the Bill of Rights specifically to entice states that were controlled by "anti-federalist" to join the union.
They built a REPUBLIC not a nationalist central government.

true enough we have a federal govt but not a national govt

All a "federal" government means is power is concentrated in the capital rather than among then states like a confederate government (like Canada's).

Of course we have a national government, all countries have a national government. How in the world else would you call them a country???

OP-Liberals love history because it proves they're right. Your stupid bs about huge bloody central gov't has nothing to do with liberalism. Breaking: Hitler and Mao were not liberals, brainwashed functional moron. The founding fathers WERE.

dear we have federal reserve notes, federal holidays, and federal courts because we are a federation of states without a typical national
govt.

The government of the United States of America is the federal government of the republic of fifty states that constitute the United States.

if Founders were liberals then they were liberals for very very tiny govt exactly the opposite of modern liberals. See why we say a liberal will be stupid?

Yes, we have a federal government, like I said. It's also a national government. If what we have ISN'T a national goverment, what the hell IS a national government??

So you don't want corporations to have status as an individuals ? Just like the Founders shaped?

too stupid a national govt isn't one that is a federation of states, it does not share power with other major entities, in this case state governments.

It's hilarious that the retardlicans on the right think they can rewrite their own very recent and well-publicized history of wanting to go back to a time when only wealthy white men had power.

We have a national government where the federal government is supreme. Read your Constitution.

Stop being an idiot. You're boring.

typical liberal without IQ for substance

Prove that liberalism supports a return to pre-Revolutionary governments. With evidence. Accomplish that miracle then you can argue that you're not an idiot.

give us the quote or admit to being stupid a liar and a liberal

This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, anything in the constitution or laws of any state to the contrary notwithstanding.

Liberals love the past because they can RE-write it to soothe them.

Well, they tried to tell us that our Founders were liberals and for huge central govt. That's about as low as you can get.
There is nothing liberating about over taxation.
There is nothing liberating about regulations.
There is nothing liberating abut mandates.

liberals feel free under the wisdom and welfare of the nanny state
our Founders felt free when the state had very very limited power. In fact they saw the state as the source of evil in human history
They saw absolute monarchy as evil, a liberal constitution and democracy as the cure, Rush- or whatever bought off pundit filled you with this bs.

Prove that liberalism supports a return to pre-Revolutionary governments. .

liberals support ever growing govt. For example, Obama wanted Obama care and still wants single payer. Liberals support 1000 govt interventions into our economy and culture.

Here are quotes from Jefferson and Madison to demonstrate the concept. Welcome to your first lesson in American History. Too bad as a liberal you lack the IQ to understand it.

14)The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.

-15)The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground.

“I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.”
James Madison

" 16)the natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to grain ground; that the greater the government the stronger the exploiter and the weaker the producer; that , therefore, the hope of liberty depends upon local self-16)governance and the vigilance of the producer class."

-17)A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor (read-taxes) and bread it has earned -- 18)this is the sum of good government.

-19)Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.
