Using the "funny" option to mock and ridicule.

"funny" is silly------people should be able to ARTICULATE (the finger way) their reactions

I do that AND I funny the silly posts sometimes. Sometimes people are so dense, all you can do is laugh. :D
I agree, but Dogmaphobe is saying that shouldn't be happening in the CDZ specifically, which I agree with. It matters less, if at all, elsewhere.

What a hypocrite you are. Maybe you should ban yourself. LOL!

Stop being such a whiny fag. Who are you to say what other people should be allowed to laugh at.
That's sexist! ;)

That's true. I should have told him to stop being gay. By calling him a fag I made it a strictly male-homophobic insult. My apologies to any lesbians who feel they were unfairly excluded.

But we're really missing the point. If we start moderating the sincerity of people's laughter, may as well just stop having a public messageboard and just have bot authored blog. Aren't you rather disturbed by the thought that mods will start spamming your inbox bitching that you said you were laughing when you weren't actually laughing? We cannot moderate people's state of mind.

And let's not forget that the dumb bitch jack4jill is a new incarnation of Truth [doesn't] Matters. And her boyfriend is dont taz me bro. Together they habitually rape large chickens and small goldfish, while trading child pornography with human smugglers from Mexico. When moderators start blackmailing posters to try convincing you to give them the sex in their buttholes there's all kinds of abuse that might happen. Not necessarily will happen. But the chances are good enough that we should want to avoid it. I mean, just look at dont taz me bro's profile picture. Last week the police in North Carolina actually watched this guy walk into men's and a women's public bathrooms and didn't even bother to try arresting him because they didn't think they could prove any illegal activity beyond a reasonable doubt. Is that the kind of butthole you want to masturbate with a little girl's barbies? I know I wouldn't want to.

So the only solution is to simply not make a big deal over how people use the funny button. Because most of the mods around here already be little bitches who end up sounding like an overseas customer service phone call when they're trying to read your mind.

Now, I realize you folks did away with the neg rep for a reason, but there has been an increased usage of the "funny" option by posters who do so solely for the purpose to mock and ridicule serious postings. Now, I realize this is allowed by site policy throughout the forum since the one person who follows me around doing so is a mod. I don't question this policy and am fine with it.

This place has a "clean debate" zone, however, and this practice also occurs in the clean debate -- usually by those with extremely partisan views. It doesn't seem to me that such mockery and derision should be part of this "clean debate" since it is an obvious provocation and amounts to trolling.

I think you folks should reconsider its use in a forum devoted to clean debate.

WTF? You are upset because someone called your serious post "funny"? Not even called it that, but tagged it funny.

I guess if you want a place where no one can do anything but disagree in the politest of words, you might have a point. Seems petty to me.

I agree with some of what you posted but no way are Taz and TDM a couple.

I generally just click the funny on a post that makes me laugh. I think many others still do as well.

Actually, its poor Drama Queen Stefunny who says she's being bullied, stalked, harassed (did I miss anything?) by those mean ole lib-rules funny-ing her posts.

She has started numerous Pay Attention To Me threads in the FZ. One of the mods told her to sod off (I paraphrase) but maybe if enough whiners harass, bully and stalk the management, they'll forbid the use of funnies.

Apparently the OP is Stephanie -The Drama Queen -By-Proxy but it may be for naught cuz I doubt she'll share her government cheese in return.

And THAT's the big news round these here parts.

Unfortunately, the CDZ has morphed into something other than a clean debate forum. .

It should be called the "March in lockstep with politically-correct authoritarians or else", forum.

It's open season on anybody who isn't part of the hive mind.
