The language of your post reveals the intent and reasoning of Trump and his ardent followers.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss infrastructure. To help communities with crumbling bridges, roads, and water treatment facilities. To build damns to hold back flood waters, and to deal with the with worst destruction of climate change weather. Such a program would save lives, improve facilities for citizens and businesses, and create high-paying jobs in engineering and construction. Trump blew it all up and made it all about HIM.

This whole thing was staged and had NOTHING to do with what Pelosi said. Trump had handouts prepared for the press, and signs on the dias in the Rose Garden touting his position. This was yet another attempt by Trump to sell the idea that he's an innocent man pursued by Democrats who cannot accept he won the Presidency.

Trump is trying to portray this fight as one where he is protecting the Presidency from attack. Another false narrative from the Liar in Chief. Trump has never had to answer to anyone in his entire life. As the head of a closely held, family owned corporation, he's never had to answer to a Board of Directors or shareholders in terms of his actions. He's never had anyone question his decisions, even as he squandered billions of dollars on bankruptcies and failed businesses.
