This is politics, of course it was staged. The top candidates don't do anything that is not tightly controlled and staged. If they do, they get lambasted by ordinary citizens and have to be hustled out of the place. If you for one moment think that Quid Pro Joe goes ANYWHERE that has not been first thoroughly checked out by the SS and his people to make sure nothing embarrassing is lying in wait, you're living in lala land.
