This is what's wrong with our society

An entire system fails a troubled kid and it is all her fault. typical.

The system didnt fail her. She failed herself. Her family failed her. The system did it's job and deported what they thought was an illegal criminal.

Like I said, this is exactly whats wrong with society. Too many people have bought this progressive idea that someone else, usually the government, should be responsible for you. It's bullcrap.

No, you're taking it to the extreme. Expecting Deportation officials to do their due dilligence has nothing to do with your fantasy platitudes of left vs. right, personal responsibility vs. non. It's simply expecting due dilligence from tax-funded employees, for fuck's sakes. You're so extreme.

Extreme? Because I dont believe in your diseased idealogy that abdicates responsibilty for every bad thing in your life?

If that's true this nation is going to destroy itself. Its people like you who are destroying this nation. If this girl was taught the truth about how she is responsible for the choices she makes instead of the bullcrap you advocate, she would never have been in this position.

When a ten year old is lazy one day and wants to watch a movie instead of wasshing the dishes, he is a hippy socialist progressive liberal who hates america and wants to destroy personal responsibility. Everything is left right, extreme, and black & white no gray. This is the mind of an overly politicized brain that's been hacked by childish and rhetorical propoganda.

yea, ya know.....Cops typically let people go without verifying who they are........that's why when someone has a warrant for their arrest and they lie and say they're Jay Leno - - - it's procedure to just believe them and let them go :cuckoo:

well, according to avatar, they dont verify anyways.

They did verify the name she gave them. It turned out to belong to an illegal immigrant from Columbia with a warrant for her arrest in Columbia.

You are such a Genius.

You don't have to be a genius to understand the verification process that law enforcemenet goes through.

You see, when people give them a name. And that name comes back as someone who exists. Law enforcement is not going assume you are lying about who you are. When they verify the data, they aren't going to keep asking the person "Are you really this person?"

So somehow it's the government's fault that this girl lied to them about who she was and they did what they were supposed to do.

Most people are fucking human and have done some stupid shit when they were young and turned out JUST fine. She's no different, except her stupid shit turned into Authorities putting her LIFE in danger by shipping her to another Country without doing any type of due dilligence. They should be shamed by all of the media for putting a 14 year old kid in that kind of danger.

^ that's false.

Example: Michael Jordan and Oprah Winfrey exist. If you tell Police you're them, do they see that the names "exist," thus letting you Free? No? Same thing if you tell them you're John Doe. Why? Because they're looking for Criminals, and Criminals use false names (names that aren't theirs, not names of people who don't even exist) to try and flee.

Do you think it's 2012 and it's that easy to get away? Naive.

Sure. Because no one can possibly learn a thing about you from what you do and say over a several year period. Clearly every statement you made is devoid of the context of the years of other posts you've had on this board.

The very fact that you are doing everything you possibly can to blame anyone other than the people responsible for this demonstrates what you believe.

Get the cancer out of your system or you are going to destroy yourself.

stfu, dude. You think you know and you do not.

I'm going to quietly back away from this ridiculous conversation because you're like talking to a disease of the brain, it's called seeing everything through a partisan hack prism.

OOPS, sorry, I started a thread on this one too. Didn't notice by the title it was the same thing.

I agree that this was the fault of the adults in charge. I think they must have been TSA agents moonlighting or something.

And how the hell did this get through the legal system anyway. Where was the guardian ad litem?

Not false at all. But what the freak do I know. I just work in the criminal justice system.

Are you really naive enough to believe that there is only one Michael Jordan in the world? You really think this red herring is going to work?

A few months ago I saw Michael Moore in court. Not the overweight rich celebrity, but a guy named Michael Moore. The police verified his information and didn't question it at all. Why? Because THATS HIS ACTUAL NAME!

Know what, I've met Michael Bolton and Michael Jackson too. Police didn't have problems verifying who they are either.

All of which is completely irrelevant because the girl didn't give a celebrity name.

Shocking I know.

Oh, get this they also ask for birthdates. So it's obvious this girl had the correct birthday for the name.

See if they get a hit on the information the person provides. The assumption is they are that person until other information demonstrates otherwise. You know, like when they run the finger prints.

But no. Clear the government needs to drop all assumptions and just repeatedly ask people "are you really who you claim to be"

Projection. Typical.

Lose the argument. Run away. Also typical.

How on earth are the adults somehow going to know that the person who claims to be a 22 year old illegal alien is really a 14 year old run away when the information she gives them comes back correct?

How do you propose they prevent this in the future? Are we seriously expecting law enforcement to indefinitely ask individuals whether they are who they say they are after the information they've provided checks out?

Do you really think a 22 yo looks like a 14 yo?

One clue might have been that she didn't speak Spanish and probably had no Spanish accent! DUH!

WHAT is wrong with you rw's that you would blame a CHILD for the actions of law enforcement?

Reminder - very similar thing happened to a young man who was kidnapped by Jeffrey Dahmer. He went to law enforcement for help and they took him back.

Two young kids used a wood screw to dig a hole in a trailer wall to escape where they were kept captive. One made it to the Tucson Mall in Tucson AZ, approached a man (an attorney) who turned them over to cops to took the child back to his abusive guardians.

There's a reason they called "children" and adults are charged with their well-being. Even if they're pubs/bags, they are still considered adults and have the responsibility to take care of children.

WHAT is wrong with you rw's that you would blame a CHILD for the actions of law enforcement?

First, a 14 year old is hardly a child.

Second, law enforcement didn't cause the girl to

a) run away
b) get arrested
c) lie to the authorities about her idenity.

Third, law enforcement merely did what the law required.

How do you blame law enforcement for doing it's job when had the individual not done those three things and had her family actually done it's job none of this would have happened?

Is it law enforcement's fault when a teenager gets life for murder? In school is it the teachers fault that the teenager didn't study and ended up flunking their exam?

You realize that had the teen merely requested her parents or an attorney at any time during this process, Immigration would have realized something was up. At any point, she could have admitted the truth.

She also could have said something at the deportation hearing.

At any point of this process she could have said something to let immigration know that she wasnt who she originally said she was.

So who is responsible?

This abdication of personal responsibility is destroying our nation. We need to stop blaming everyone but the person responsible.
