There is something seriously FISHY going on with Lotto America (highly unlikely odds)

I try not to play too much lottery but I was winning small amounts w/ Lotto America, so started playing slightly more often.

I shouldn't have.

FACT: I have never seen anyone win the Jackpot. that doesn't mean it doesn't happen but you'd think I woud have noticed this after several months of playing. No one even wins 5 or 4 numbers most of the time (I want to say they never win)

Then there is this: Even though no one won the Jackpot, the prize went recently from somtehing like 39 million to TWO million. How can it go down so far when no one won?

It gets worse: There are 10 possible numbers that can come up as "star ball" so you'd think that you have a 1 in 10 chance of getting the SB, right?

not so. So many times the number you think (because of the law of averages) would be most likely to come up does not come up for 22 (or mor) drawings.

Tell me that isn't suspicious... it's like someone is deliberately manipulating the apparatus used for drawing numbers.

I remember when they legalized the lotto here in Texas.
I played for a couple of months with scratch offs and the numbers because it was something new.
After not winning much of anything the allure quickly faded. I just dont understand people who can least afford it seem to be the ones who keep throwing away their money.

Oh.....and I hate those MFers who are in front of me cashing in a few winners and replaying the scratch offs in hopes of winning next time.
I go to the convenience store because it's convenient. Well it sure as hell isnt when you get some clown going through all of his failed tickets.

that's oddbecause I always see well to do people winning, although there was that sadstory of the homeless guy winning, a guy named Shakespeare of all things... and the person hehired to help him use the money properly killed him, some woman named.. can't recall but she's in prison

It's very simple: because they are the ones who need $$ the most and don't have millions or even thousands to invest in some other, more profitable endeavor. Of course these people are always the ones most taken advantage of by greedy lottery people

i don't think the poor are winning. The homeless guy was likely an aberration, although I really don't know because I don't follow the winners (yet).

I'm neither stupid or completely broke (although I could be doing better money-wise). I play what I feel I can afford, but seriously, I don't think i am going to play any more. If I do, it won't be much.

No, you did not.

I specifically said that some of the most intelligent people I have ever met were POOR. I myself came from middle-class/poor people and never got wealthy. There ARE more important things in life than getting filthy rich.

It's not really that difficult to make good money all you have to do is apply yourself and have some self control.
Hell,I didnt graduate high school and still managed to retire at 46.

ha ha... surely you jest. Then they would lose money. And what does that mean, anyway. Does that mean, when they win all the time, that our roads will be taken care of? our schools will be better? Hardly. I haven't noticed any change in the roads where I live, no change in something like 20 years. And schools.. we all know the woke BS being taught there.

I am seriously thinking of never playing any of the damn games ever again. Or maybe I'll buy a Mega or Powerball ticket.. ONE. If God wanted people to fly, he would have given them wings? LOL

If investing in lottery tickets is a major part of your long term investment strategy, you are not too bright

since most employers these days are not offering pensions anymore, we need to invest one dollar on Powerball or Mega Millions when the jackpot gets big. If you are meant to win, you will win no matter the odds. Investing in the stock market is dumb.

i didn't know that about pensions...

But to correct something: Mega and PB are not just $1 anymore. If you want the extra thing, it is $3.

That's just another thing I HATE about lotteries: they jack up the price but NEVER make the game easier to win. I am actually astounded that ANYONE ever wins... I mean the chances are astronomically against us. That's one reason I thought of playing Lotto A... but again, I doubt I play much in the future.

But that would defeat the whole unstated purpose -- to maximise the extortion of easy money where stupidity is at its greatest concentration
