We should be thanking all the tree huggers out there not calling them. After all they have our best interests at heart, they want us living healthier etc. etc.

They want us out of our cars, or suvs, walking and cycling to work eating organic food and keeping pace with the seasons.

Of course what their not telling us is just how 6.5 billion people will live as we did in the middle ages, just how we are going to live off the land, not rely on modern health care, get rid of all technology accept a few things. Lead a simple stress free and none polluting life.

What they seem to forget is that when people did live like this the majority lived in abject poverty and squalor at the mercy of feudal overlords. They were worked to death died young and in great pain and suffering whilst the rich lived aplenty, sounds just like today.

No the real objective of the tree huggers besides taking us back to the year zero (makes you think of Pol Pot) is to remove the bulk of the worlds population. And if billions persish so what it will be a better world for those who are left, of course that will be mainly the tree huggers of course.

The new age terrorists are quitely beavering away doing the bidding of their masters TPTB.

I think it's great that you attempt to categorize people you obviously don't understand, and in doing so, by repeating the same tired right-wing talking points, don't take the time to understand what others are saying, even if you don't believe it yourself.

I understand them just fine....I was one until the late '90s.

The OP is, to a great extent, correct.

Well, then, we need to set a standard for the phrase "tree hugger"

Is a person who advocates for forests, is it a person who goes and spikes trees to kill loggers, is it a person who thinks that the excesses of the human animal have taken us down the wrong path, is it idoits like the ELF who go and burn down hummer dealerships?

Or is it conservative wording for anyone who is concerned with the environment?

Those persons would fall under the heading of eco-terrorists.

"Concern with the environment" is a little more slippery....I know plenty of farmers, ranchers, and private timber operations that show plenty of this "concern" for the environment, because they derive their livelihoods from it.

That said, city dwelling know-it-alls, who don't own but the smallest -if any- parcels of land, running around telling others how they must treat their land (which, let's face it, comprises the bulk of enviroloons) are another thing altogether.

Extremes in any believ system are dangerous and are to be controlled. The far right extreme is the Aryan Nation the far left is Communism.

Because someone "flips a label" does not mean anything. Tree hugger means to me someone concerned about the environment. Such concern is simply intelligent.

Is it really intelligent to buy into such a one dimensional political spectrum??

"Concern", devoid any practical hands-on experience with or care for the externalities of their myopic mindset, is as unintelligent as you can get.

There is a differnece between choice and inventing legislation for enviro crimes in order to extort monies under the pretense of climate control. It does not matter one jot what man does or does not do as we are nothing more than ticks on the back of the world. When mother nature wants it will remove us and all our pollution any time she likes. Its happened before and it will happen again.

There is nothing wrong in wanting to improve the situation but that should be done correctly and not under the guise of a world plan or the aforementioned punative taxes/fines.

In other words, don't do a damned thing untill the situation is completely out of hand. Well, Public, nice to see another loon on the board that denies real science.

Has your polarized thinking been diagnosed, or is it just free to roam in your "open" mind?

It is the job of thinking people not to be on the side of the executioners.
