I knew you just wouldn't understand, truth. Clinton"s policies had the lending institutions to have more lenient lending restrictions for mortgages, was the beginning, OK?
I'm not dismissing what the right does OK? That is politics, but I do expect people to be honest when it comes to pointing fingers, and you aren't able to do that, truth.
If obama's policies are job killers, which they are with cap and trade, and this boodndoggle of healthcare, he does have his hands on the recession. Even when he was a Senator, he became part of the problem, but I digress. Even though he did inherit the recession, if his actions don't take the economy in the right direction, he is to blame also.

Guess who didnt fix the brakes for ten years while the protections of glass steagal were gone.

Yes there were policies to force banks to give loans to people with certain risks. Note the word force. They were not liking it because it presented more risk and a smaller chance of profit. Then glass steagal was killed and the banks were able to buy into several sectors of the finacial industry which in the past were seperated to protect us from what happened in the GD. With these restrictions gone they found a sleazy way to profit on the shitty loans by packaging them off with other loans to hide the risk. THEY THEN SOLD THEM OFF. They no longer bared the risk of the shitty loans they sold to the little guy. The little guy was told housing would jsut keep going up forever and they believed it. The little guy was told to buy the house he cant afford and then sell it for a profit in a couple of years and use that money to buy a house you could afford with a traditional loan. This actually worked for peopel who were in early on the game. Like any ponzi scheme it was the late comers to the game who got bilked. Another way people got bilked is they were told by the financial experts that housing would keep going up forever so they could take money out of their homes equity and buy that HUGE status symbol SUV they always wanted. Remember all the "Its patriotic to shop and buy" bullshit you heard from Bush?

The only thing that will be different this time is the corps will be free to POUR money into the system until they can have us right back in the situation we were before the GD and we will have these booms and busts every other year until the country get so mad we become a third world country the turns to socialism in a revolt against capitalism and its abuses when it is unfettered.

All the republicans had to do was properly regulate the industry. The effects of the removal of glass steagal were being seen by the time they were in office, they did not fix it because it was helping their economic numbers.
Every congress and president was in someway involved in this mess but the fact remains the peopel at the helm at the time the outcome of this mess could have been stopped was Bush and the entirely R congress. You can pretend they werent but its fact.
