The Dems aren't in chaos. Impeachment is a political act, and without support from Republicans and the public it cannot go forward. The hearings the are now starting will educate the Senate and the people as to the crimes Trump committed. Those who have actually READ the Mueller Report, say Trump is guilty, both of knowingly accepting help from the Russians, and of obstructing justice.
While there isn't enough evidence to convict on criminal conspiracy, Trump isn't helping himself in the court of public opinion by admitting today that he sees nothing wrong with taking political dirt on a political opponent from a foreign government, and that he wouldn't call the FBI. Even if the foreign government is an enemy of the American people, Trump admits he'd take it and he'd use it.
American opposed Nixon's impeachment when the hearings started. But watching the extent of the President's criminal behaviour, watching Nixon lie and lash out against his opponents, and castigate his "enemies" turned the people against Nixon.
And Nixon was a whole lot more likeable than Trump. NOBODY respects Trump. NOBODY.

No, those on both sides who have read the Report. Why do you think that Barr hid it for 6 weeks while lying about what it said? And don't say that didn't happen because that's why Mueller wrote letters to Barr saying that Barr's Summary "mischaracterized" the findings in his Report.
Now the Justice Department is refusing to hand over the underlying documents in the Report to Congress, and is obstructing all oversight and investigations of the Trump Administration.
The Obstruction of Justice and the Abuses of Power are ongoing. Trump is on track to be the first President in American history who will be prosecuted and jailed for crimes of corruption while in office.

Numerous commentators are asking Republican Congresscritters if they've read the Report, and they're hard pressed to find Republican Representatives who have. The Washington Post surveyed members of the Judidical Committees and the Intelligence Committees of both the House and Senate - the two Committees who are most involved in the Report and its findings, and fully 1/3 said they had not read the full report, and it's entirely possible that staffers who answered for their bosses over-estimated whether the other 2/3 of their bosses had read the FULL report.
It's called "plausible deniability". If they don't read the Mueller Report they can continue to spout the line that they haven't seen any evidence that Donald Trump did anything wrong. Once they've read Mueller, that becomes a lie so this way, they can continue to defend Trump, without lying outright.
