...that's why we are losing the argument on abortion, assisted suicide and euthanasia, is because too many people can no longer be reached by religious arguments.

The quandary is this, only if there is a God who created human life in his own image, is human life precious, so that killing of innocent human life is always wrong.

If one does not believe in God, then human life has no inherent value, and killing innocent human life can be justified when it is convenient.

The only way to win the argument on abortion/assisted suicide/euthanasia is to convince enough people that God exists.

The way to convince rational people ... is to be rational.
Imagining something and believing it true is not rational.

If you can't see the inherent value of human life without tying it to some religious belief, then you don't understand what morality is. Here is a hint. It's not making all your decisions based on fear of what some imagined sky fairy might think.

That is an outrageous argument. For shame.

Human life has value? I guess in the greater pawn scheme of things........ Or if one is a tort lawyer........

The largest mass murders in history were carried out by godless communists, which libtards, socialists, and DimCOMS have more in common than they'll ever admit.

Given complete control, they would gladly put a bullet behind your ear, send your family off to a Gulag, then go home and eat dinner with their families like nothing ever happened.

the right wing doesn't care. they would prefer to mine the border. natural rights means nothing to the right wing, not even in abortion thread.

One can argue that all intelligent life should be protected because intelligence is rare. Opposable thumbs, ability to speak, etc.

The ability to use intelligence is the rare aspect.

Imagining something and believing it true is not rational.

Which is why convincing atheists is difficult. By definition they aren’t rational.

Most people aren’t rational though.

Republicans care about the fetus.

Republicans care about billionaires.

Anything in between? Not so much.

Muslims often kill those they consider infidels even though they believe that man was made in the image of God.

The key is how people are "dehumanized". Once you dehumanize people by called them infidels, or Jews vermin, or slaves in the deep south glorified apes, or the unborn as a "fetus", etc., then you are free to treat them like animals.

And how do we treat animals? We use them as beasts of burden, lock them in zoos for our amusement, or kill and eat them.
