Things quickly went south during a speech by federal Judge Kyle Duncan to law students at Stanford University this week when the associate dean of diversity (Tirien Steinbach), equity and inclusion (DEI) slammed him to his face after hecklers interrupted his presentation.

Duncan, who was appointed by former President Donald Trump, started getting heckled by student protestors who made it impossible for him to continue his speech.

DEI associate dean Tirien Steinbach did nothing to stop the heckling and instead launched a long emotional speech during his presentation accusing him of causing "harm" through his work on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and suggesting the school needed to reconsider its policies on free speech.

Comment:
It is obvious that this dishonest DEI Dean invited Judge Duncan to her college to set him up and attack him in front of her students.
The DEI people are supposed to be about tolerance, but they are actually about normalizing Left Wing hate and racism.
And of course, these delusional DEI people are attacking Freedom of Speech because they fear the truth and reality.
They are everything which they profess to abhor, and they unable to see it because they are blinded by their hate.
These DEI people are not mending the divide they are mining the divide with great gusto.

I'm old. I remember the free speech demonstrations during the 60s and 70s on college campuses. Now, college campus is the last place for free speech to even be tolerated, much less defended, even if invited to speak by the college. The protesters should have been quieted until the speech was complete, and if they wouldn't, asked to leave, and if they wouldn't leave, be taken out and then expelled.

The leftist law school dean took the podium, and instead of apologizing for the behavior of her students, scolded the judge to his face in front of the students.

This is what educational institutions are turning out these days: obnoxious, intolerant young people who think they can scream and yell at their superiors.

In September 1971 the Atlantic published an essay by Harvard Professor Richard Herrnstein entitled "IQ." In this article he anticipated arguments he presented with Charles Murray in their book The Bell Curve, which was published in 1994.

The new left organization Students for a Democratic society had a convention at Harvard the following spring with the expressed intention of getting Professor Herrnstein fired. Fortunately, SDS failed. Even more fortunately, SDS soon ceased to exist.

Nevertheless, a precedent had been established to use force to suppress ideas that the left disliked. During the McCarthy Era it was the right that suppressed intellectual freedom. It became the left that suppressed intellectual freedom. The left continues to do this.
