Socialism?

Socialism, what is it? One school of thought is:
Egalitarianism (derived from the French word égal, meaning "equal")
It is defined as a political doctrine that holds that all people should be treated as equals and have the same political, economic, social, and civil rights.

To quote the document of our founding fathers "inalienable rights endowed by their Creator". These constitutional authors would risk everything, including their own lives, defending the moral principles by which they lived, and which formed the basis for their (now our) constitution.

By this document, our constitution, “we the people” are already socialists.
Further proof is we subscribe to socialist implementation:
Armed forces provide for the “common defense”
U.S. mail service has our home address.
Teachers for public schools.
Workers for roads and parks.
Retirement for our old.
SSI for our permanently disabled.
Workers compensation for our injured on the job.

We have bits and pieces of all kinds of government, we are NOT a hybrid. We are rather a cut and paste society, trying whatever seems to work, as we tweak our way thru history.
So tell me why is there so much fear?

We're a hybrid. Hence we lasted longer than one generation.

Where is anything after the post office enumerated in the Constitution?...Oh yeah, none of it is.

The military is a red herring, because it's the collectivized manifestation of the individual right to protection of one's life and property from external aggression.

The Post Office is also a red herring, since Lysander Spooner lost in his bid to create a private company that would deliver first class mail.

Any other patently ridiculous examples you want to try, in order to "prove" that America was founded as a quasi-socialist nation?

:eusa_eh:

OK perhaps I should argue “Heterogeneous but by no means homogenized” to better illustrate my "cut and paste” philosophy?

Tear out page, throw over left sholder…next?

Now I never said the postal service was a human right, nor did I claim that it was included in the constitution.
Love how you cut my quote in half to make your point.
These are socialized programs none the less and they make us less free and are something to be feared?

Don’t even get me started about Government subsidies.

Trying whatever seems fit was always an American way. It has socialist and capitalist basis in itself. The ultimate goal was to make life better for all of us. We're not socialist or capitalist nation. Until recently America was a smart nation.

Ben Franklin a socialist?????? If it's true, no wonder his hair fell out.

I got pretty good grades in history, both in high school and college and I don't recall our founding fathers being socialists.

Who said anything about so-called "human" rights?

BTW, the Post Office WAS included in the Constitution. However, there is nothing which made its creation sacrosanct, to the point that it was set fort to be monopoly codified.

As for the remainder of that mess of an OP, the weakness of your argument in only exceeded by its banality.

Post office. Wow, you sucked at history :(

Point out where the Constitution expressly prohibits anyone in the free market from delivering first class mail?

I don't know, lets ask the framers. Oh wait, we go back to framers only when it is fit.

I said "We have bits and pieces of all kinds of government" we have amendments to our constitution and add more civil liberties, this furthers the idea of equality. How does this not correlate with my original statement?

The military is a red herring, because it's the collectivized manifestation of the individual right to protection of one's life and property from external aggression.
To provide for the common defense. That could have just as easily stayed as militia, had there not been need for more.

The Post Office is also a red herring, since Lysander Spooner lost in his bid to create a private company that would deliver first class mail.

So a guy lost a private bid, so the government run system is not socialized?

Already did. You dont except facts.

The answer is that there is no such provision. Otherwise, you would have easily been able to point it out.

Thus I must assume that framers hated the constitution.

Socialism, what is it? ?

It is my favorite socioeconomic system, so as you can see, I am not mentally ill.

You see I love to be enslaved by distant bureaucrats and told what to do.

I am very happy FDR abolished the US Constitution and replaced with the Constitution of the welfare/warfare state of 1935.

I am a patriotic American who is willing to do whatever the "Vaterland" demands of me. After having spent 12 years at a government school I am extremely proud to call myself a sheeple.
