In Parliamentary systems, they have this thing called a vote of no confidence for the existing government. It's often done daily as a formality and the majority in power will almost always vote to keep the current government. But every once in a while, the motion passes and this triggers a full re-election for all parliamentary seats (which of course includes the prime minister).
Can you imagine having something similar here in the US? And if it passed, every single congressional seat (house & senate) and the presidency would be up for grabs in a special election?
Thoughts?
