Should we have intervened militarily to keep Mubarak in power?

No. We should not have intervened militarily. We just shouldnt have undermined Mubarak and allowed them to work out their own destiny. We also should not be encouraging the Muslim brotherhood to political power in Egypt. We've essentially handed the state over the Islamic Fundamentalists.

It's none of our god-damn business what goes on in Libya and Syria!

This is true and the Repubs want to carry the mantle of budget hawks whilst simultaneously demanding having a say in who is the leader of each country. That costs a lot of money to "install" leaders. Any conservatives here remember what happened when the US installed a leader in Iran? :eusa_whistle:

It also usually is related to keeping resources flowing from dirt poor countries to the US so they can drive @ in Escalades w/ built-in refrigerators. godbless merka.

We hear again and again that the President messed up with Egypt by letting Mubarak fall. For those who believe that,

what was the correct course of action, in your view?

There was no need to intervene We should have openly supported him though and let his Generals know we supported him. As to Libya we should not have supported the terrorists.

It's these same religous zealots in this country feeding us a bunch of bullshit like they did 10 years ago, because they are willing to blow up the entire planet, just so they can have their "clash of civilizations" war.

They're no different than the nut-case jihadists in the ME and are willing to throw America under the bus to make this happen.

I agree.

I agree. We had no reason to be in libya. It wasnt our fight

Absolutely not!!!
Most of our problems in the Middle East are due to our intervention into some government or another. The US should just back away, taking our money and our military and let the countries over there settle it for themselves.

The idiot that started this thread is the typical liberal that is dumber than shit and believes conservatives only want to use the hammer to get our way around the world.

First, Egypt has a pro-US military...idiot. The US military has a lot of pull with their military and we made sure they didn't shoot the protestors down like dogs in the street. There would be no protests if not for the Egyptian military behaving because of their US training.

Second, we should have worked with the protestors and Mubarak to work out a deal for him to stay in power until a UN sanctioned election to slow the mob mentality that ruled the country. Better PR for Mubarak would have given his follower a better chance against the mob's terrorist choice.

Instead Obamination showing his typical stupidity allowed Mubarak to lose power and the terrorsts gain power. The #1 of Al Qai'da has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt going back to the 70s-80s, so it is very strange Obamination didn't fear that terrorist group winning unless he doesn't care.....

:eusa_hand: Please, not even close to the same thing tough guy.
It's not our place to tell sovereign nations who their leaders are, or what goes on internally in their country.

I suspect it is because of that small country over there, that we've bribed Egypt for the last 40 yrs to leave alone, and there's oil in that region so we helped prop-up dictators so that joe six-pack could fill his pickup for $1/gal while the politicians rob us blind.
