There was clearly a dirty cover up involved with Ted Kennedy and Chappaquiddick. The whole thing just stunk. Of course most of the people here defending their "Hero" would have a completely different take if it were a Republican who killed that poor young girl all those years ago. The Liberal Media has unfortunately shown this same dishonesty & hypocrisy. I don't think that Ted Kennedy was ever held fully accountable for his crime.

He received a suspended jail sentence for leaving the scene of the crime. He was found clear of any wrongdoing otherwise. He was held accountable and it wasn't murder. It was a tragic accident involving someone who happened to be a Kennedy and a young woman who was very talented in politics involved with the Kennedy campaign. It wasn't a murder of any sort.

Despite how much you wish for it to be true, there was no cover up. If it were anybody else, this issue would of been settled a long time ago. Hell, if there had been a favorite Republican of yours (Ron Paul), I'm sure you wouldn't give a flying fuck. Exit stage left you hypocrite.

For those not old enough to remember, Mary Jo Kopechne was a 28-year-old woman that a married Ted Kennedy was driving home after a party on Martha's Vineyard. Kennedy was one of five married men at the party, which was also attended by six young single women.

Would the same Liberal Press and all of Kennedy's defenders be calling him a "Hero" today? I seriously doubt it. Speaking of Mary Jo and Ted:

Many people sometimes get caught up in "events" that they really had no control over. Look at John McCain. When he was a pilot on the Forestal, a plane he was going to fly "somehow" started a fire that burned to death over 160 men. John had to be airlifted off the Forestal for his own protection. The survivors wanted to kill him because they believed he started the fire due to "hot dogging". Now, did he? Who knows? Just because he has never been to a Forestal memorial, doesn't mean he was responible for all those deaths. It doesn't mean a thing that he was the only officer on deck who wasn't decorated. So he crashed four or more other jets. Just because he graduated 5th from the bottom out of 899 cadets, you can't automatically assume he shouldn't be flying multi-million dollar fighter jets.

You see what I'm saying? You can't just assume someone is guilty of a crime without all the facts. It looked bad for John McCain and that never seemed to bother Republicans.

Can you cite specifics of when where she was called a whore or anything close to it? I just don't get what the point would be. Whether she was one or not, doesn't have any bearing on the fact that Teddy let her drown.

I can't stand the Kennedy family and even though I wish no ill will on anyone, I'm going to get sick and tired of hearing about what a "champion" he was after about 5 minutes. He and the rest of his family are a joke, handed everything their entire lives and faced zero reprocussions for their indiscretions. He left that woman to die and was only charged with a misdemenor. I mean only a select few can get kicked out of Harvard for cheating....but then be allowed back in only one or 2 years later and graduate. There was his cousin who probably raped a women and his nephew, patrick Kennedy who proudly claimed "he never worked a day in his life" (not to mention being a drunk and drug abuser), or even Joe Patrick K who paralyzed his GF after driving recklessly but was only charged with a misdemeanor

I think it's a shame that the people of Mass continued to give him and anyone else in that family a free pass for such a long time.
