I don't think it matters if it was an Attack sub or a Boomer. If they can get an attack sub that close, they can get a Boomer that close. Period.

True enough, some of their newer Attack subs, do have Cruise Missiles. That could be Nuclear Tipped. It does not have to be a Boomer anymore, But if they wanted to launch a large Multiple War Head attack, they would need their boomers.
