Will never happen. Independent minded sock.This:1. Alot of Misguided Leftists are Jewish.Hold on there, Phoenall! First of all, I find this:
"I don't need to read past the first paragraph as you show your Jew hatred in those few lines."
extremely offensive, first, because I'm Jewish myself, and secondly, because of the insulting manner with which you disagree with my opinions. Standing singlely in front of a bulldozer without adequate protection is not the smartest thing in the world, but Ms. Corrie did not deserve to die, especially in such a horrible manner. The family whose house she was trying to protect was an ordinary Palestinian family, and none of them had ever been accused of being terrorists by the Israeli military.
Also, I stand by my position that the Gaza Strip doesn't belong to Israel, and that they have no business demolishing houses there.
2. Corrie's death was Inevitable, so "deserved', probably.
As you note from your own many retold Close Calls it was Inevitable, yet they kept doing it.
3. Israel Left Gaza 10 Years ago, a few years after the Corrie incident.
4. Israel only came into possession of the territories after the defensive, if pre-emptive 1967 War.
It begged Jordan not to enter that war.
5. Israel offered back said territories in exchange for mere recognition.
The Arabs refused in August of that year. (See 'Khartoum 3 Nos')
6. Resolution 242 called for NEW Negotiated 'secure and recognized boundaries', fully recognizing Israel would take a small buffer against future Arab aggression.
Resolution 242: It does NOT mean withdrawal to 1967 lines
It does NOT say withdraw to 1967 boundaries, nor does anyone who really wants peace.
Any new boundaries would be BASED on the 1967 borders, with perhaps land exchanges to replace heavily settled areas.
Under no conditions would the exact '67 borders ever happen.
7. Granted, Israel has now taken more than foreseen as a small buffer: perhaps the original 3% Green Line.
8. So, being consistent in my position of what's fair, I used to argue for those near-in settlements as borders, but now Israel is surrounding the Palestinians and 'closing them out', so to speak.
This was Not foreseen as fair by 242.
Take it from a Jew who knows the history better than you do.
`
" I think perhaps the old small buffer green line and app 3% is fair, with or without exchanges for it."
just might make the most sense, at this stage, along with the two-state solution.
