Ayup... like it or not the law is clear. If the mother says kill my fetus, the abortion of a fetus in the first two trimesters is a legal killing. If the mother says don't kill my fetus, the killing of the fetus, if premeditated, is murder. No, he's right. Killing a fetus against the will of the mother is indeed murder. Here's a case where a man was charged with 1st degree murder for such an offense (though he took a plea bargain for a lesser offense)....No. A fetus is not a person. You can only murder people. Ergo, you cannot murder a fetus. It would be assault against the mother if anything.Incorrect, abortion against the will of the mother is, murder.

That said, abortion by the will of the mother is not murder.
The folks on the left of this issue can't swallow the idea that a fetus is alive. Yet, in late third trimesters they are born every day.
I find some of both sides of this debate to be a bit too attached to their beliefs. For example some on right argue that an unfertilized egg, or zygote that is only an hour old is a living person. As another example, some on the left argue that a fetus in the womb is not a human till after birth and still then, only after you prove the baby is viable without any assistance.
Both of these extreme sides, are ... well extreme. IMO we should use the measure we use for all humans at death. Beating heart and/or brainwave activity.
