We all engage in some rhetorical use of "ridicule" from time to time. But when Alinsky made it part of his "rules" for "radicals," he was outlining a consistent technique. It was not intended as a method of persuasion. It was intended as a method to bypass logic and debate entirely.

It is silly to believe that folks will refrain from using the fallacy of "ad hominem" in debates and arguments and discussions. But it is much worse than silly to embrace it as a tool of governance.

This is why Alinsky was a piece of shit and those who choose to "follow" his lead (like the incumbent President and like Shrillary Clinton) are also pieces of shit.

5. “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counteract ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.”

Recent studies have shown that this is no longer effective. In October 2012, when Progs ridicule they just look stupid and pointless, so by all means keep it up.

When cons ridicule, it shows they've been paying more attention to Alinsky than they care to admit. Personally, I never knew much about him until the Republican primaries.

We weren't born conservative. Most of us grew up as libs in the 60's and cut our teeth on Chomsky, Alinsky, Leary, Castaneda, Mailer.

Rules for Radicals was socialism 101 for us. It should come as no surprise that we "former libs" know Alisnky inside and out.

We grew up, became conservatives, but we know the left wing game inside and out.

Oh and by the bye, we can and do read despite all the propaganda that somehow convinces you that anyone other than a liberal doesn't have the ability to do so.

Not sure Saul Alinsky dirty tricks will be enough for the Community Organizer this time around. He's a real mess. Even some of his most loyal Obamabots are beginning to realize that. The Dear Leader lost a very dear friend when they pulled the plug on his Teleprompter. He looks tired and clueless without it. But i guess we'll see though.
