The bulk of these disqualifications, however, were not due to supposed technicalities, but to gross irregularities such as voting in the wrong county, voting while unregistered, voting more than once (many overseas absentees in Florida were sent two ballots and returned them both, but only one was counted) or the absence of a signature attesting to the voter's identity. After the Bush campaign filed a blizzard of lawsuits and most counties rechecked the overseas ballots, only a few hundred votes were restored out of the over 1,500 disqualified.

Even these votes included major irregularities, such as votes postmarked or witnessed after Election Day, ballots which arrived after the November 17 deadline, and even ballots that were faxed in. One county election supervisor admitted that, in response to Republican protests, she had done exactly what the Republicans claimed to oppose: “It changed from following strict adherence to statutory law to a more general interpretation based on new information, basically,'' said Stephanie Thomas, assistant supervisor of elections in Clay County.

Which speech did you watch? I just randomly clicked on different points during the video and found several moments where Obama received applause. For example:

At around 5:34 Obama received applause for ending the war in Iraq.

At around 16:00 Obama received applause when he talked about the need to address the mental health of combat veterans.

At around 18:00 Obama received applause when he talked about the need to smoothly integrate combat veterans back into life at home and provide education and job opportunities.

The speech was over 45 mins long. I'm sure there were several moments besides the ones that I just cited where Obama received applause.

I didn't bother watching the whole speech, because 1) frankly, I find speeches to be boring (no matter who is orating) and 2) I knew that all I needed to do to disprove your lying OP was to pick random moments throughout the speech as examples.

I love the part where he says he will never send them into harm's way unless necessary and he will give them the equipment they need to do the job. The country owes them that.

I was finishing my breakfast at one of my favorite dining establishments. My partner and I meet there a couple of times a week to discuss business. Today, it was pretty busy so they seated us in the bar. Initially, the TV was turned to some kind of sales network, hawking all kinds of shit. By the time we finished eating, there were six people in the bar: two guys and a gal seated at the bar, an older gent opposite them, my partner and I at a table.
The channel changed and here we have obama glad-handing the troops, what a photo op. Then he mounted the podium and started drooling his diarrhea of the mouth. Both the younger guys and the gal dropped money on the bar to cover their tabs. They made it very obvious they had no desire to have this shit inflicted upon them. I asked the bartender if she could change the channel to some sports show and she told me the older guy (the boss) had selected that channel. I paid my tab and we left immediately. I doubt the boss even noticed that he had pretty much cleared the bar.
My partner was embarrassed because I made it clear why I was leaving. I will not let them seat me in the bar again, ever.
