Is The State Department or the Department of Defense recruiting? That would make sense.

Okay. I'm too new here to be able to post a URL, but if you search for "critical languages" there is a link to the Language Flagship that explains the designation of critical language and indicates the existence of K-12 pilot programs to bring these languages into the schools.

It's not a Charter School, it's a public school. But it's a "choice" school.

NYC has MANY public schools that are not zoned schools, they're either "choice" schools or test-based admissions.
 
For the vast majority of Americans who will never work in the foreign service, is Arabic a more useful language to learn than others?
