Now these are the very weapons regularly used for the worst mass shooting in history. Over 50+ deaths isn't that dangerous? You clowns have been spewing BS for far too long.
Some cops were hesitant to engage, others were not. Armed teachers may not save our children, but we can be absolutely certain that unarmed teachers will not save our children.

The cops say guns in the hands of citizens is the best defense. So are they influenced by the NRA?
Every creature on earth understands self defense. A cornered rat. A rabbit caught by the coyote kicks and screams and tries to get away.
Only humans would argue that remaining defenseless is the best defense. Only humans would pretend the instinct of self preservation is wrong.
Letting the adults in the school carry a gun may make no difference. But at least they have the tools to defend themselves. They have a chance. It is obvious that relying on police is asinine. It is equally obvious that banning the scary weapons won’t work.
But explain this. If rounding up ten million illegal immigrants is too hard, too expensive, how easy will it be to round up a hundred million semiautomatic rifles?

I think expecting teachers to openly engage an active shooter with superior firepower is unrealistic
For Trump to think armed teachers would storm that building when armed deputies wouldn’t is gun lover fantasy

I am unsure of the training of the deputies. It very well could be they did exactly what they were trained to do in such a shooting situation. If that is the case perhaps they just need a new sheriff and improved training. It is also possible that they were all followers and wanted a leader to take the lead on what to do. My guess is they had no training at all and never thought the situation would come up and they were all scared to do anything. A police officer not only has to worry about his life but he has to worry about something going wrong and having to face a trial where arm chair officers decide if they made the right decision or not. When there is a shooting in a school there is going to be some things go wrong and police officers are an excellent target for the media to blame.

After Columbine, police training changed to include confronting the attacker. As for training, I live in an area where the entire county population is 70,000 people and our police have active shooter training sessions.
Also, it is my understanding that this school district is one of the largest in the US. If they don't have active shooter training, someone needs to lose their job.
