Never Trust A Man Who Mistreats Dogs

prove it.
Probably it had something to do with the fact that he was shitting uncontrollably all over his car carrier.

And, he was shitting uncontrollably because he was in real physical distress. Remember that this was on an open highway, speeds greater than what we drive now although 55 or 60 would have the same physical affect.

According to a vet's statement I read, they dog probably came close to death.

This was not like letting your dog hang his head out the window. Traveling at that speed, the buffeting would have had a physical affect on the dog's head and brain.

No, he was not having a good time.

Worse, when Romney saw that the dog was so distressed that he had lost control of his bowels, he actually took a hose to the dog and then returned the wet and freezing dog to the roof of the car for several more hours.

HOW can anyone excuse this behavior?

Obviously many Republicans can. On another thread there were comments of "no big deal". I'm guessing that since the guy has a couple of hundred million dollars, it's understandable that he has no concern for something as meaningless as a dog. Course, the dog that lives here is part of the family. For those on the right, they may consider that "socialism".

Let's get serious on what true animal cruelty is:

Riverside authorities are searching for a man who tied a dog to a rope, then dragged her behind a pickup truck.

The 10-month-old white German shepherd survived and will recover.

Police got a 911 call from a passerby who saw the truck dragging the dog Wednesday night at Claycroft and Peacock lanes in Riverside. The driver eventually untied the dog and took off.

Mears,Michigan - Three drunken men, none of whom has a valid driver's license dragged a dog behind their pickup truck on Thursday night on West Taylor Road near 48th Ave in Golden Township.

A video from a Mear's store showed the men putting an Irish setter in the back of a pickup truck. One man seemed to be disciplining the dog and then patted the dog's head as the man climbed into the truck. A gas station attendant stated the men appeared intoxicated.

Shortly after, a woman followed a bloody trail on the same road for approximately three miles. She called 911. Deputy Kevin Repo, a K-9 trainer investigated and later found the men at their home. One man stated the dog had either jumped or fallen out of the truck, and they had not realized what had happened. The men showed the the deputy where the dog was buried.

What the hell are you talking about? Are you saying we don't think those are awful stories of animal abuse caused by awful people?

Seriously, what are you thinking?

I'm an independent who usually votes for Democrats. I wouldn't vote for Mitt no matter what. But even if I were a Republican, the mere fact that Mitt would treat his own dog like this, would keep me from voting for that emotionless robot. I'm an animal lover. I would never even think of doing this to any of my pets. I'm not bringing this up thinking that it will hurt him politically. It didn't then; I'm sure it won't now. But it is very telling of what type of person he is. This writer hits it right on the nose.

What our fascination with Mitt Romney?s dog Seamus says about our culture - Boston.com

Sometime during a 12-hour drive from Boston to Canada in 1983, Mitt’s oldest son, Tagg, noticed a brown liquid running down the rear window of the family station wagon. Realizing the liquid was being discharged by their dog, Mitt pulled off the highway and into a gas station, borrowed a hose to wash down Seamus and the car, and then returned the dog to his rooftop carrier for the duration of the trip. Most media reports have accurately relayed those basics. However, exaggerations and faulty assumptions have been advanced, most notably by New York Times columnist Gail Collins, who has trotted out the ghost of poor Seamus in more than 30 of her pieces since 2007.

To me, Romney’s critics have focused on the wrong part of the anecdote. It’s not that Romney put his dog on the roof. Remember how different standards were in 1983. Back then, I was a kid sloshing around in the cargo section of my family’s station wagon, competing with my equally unbuckled younger sister to see how many passing truck drivers we could get to pull their horns. I’ll take the Romneys at their word that Seamus loved his alfresco rides. Hell, my dog loves doing all kinds of things I don’t, chief among them luxuriating in the stink of other dogs’ duffs. What is beyond debate, though, is that this far into this particular trip, Seamus had ceased enjoying his ride. Faced with such irrefutable evidence, most people, I suspect, would have relented and let the ailing dog cram into the back of the wagon, even if logic dictated that cleaning up a repeat episode of his gastric distress would be a whole lot messier than if he were returned to the roof.

How about a man who would put people over profits? Like a CEO who would shut his company down so that the whole company could participate in the search for a colleague's missing daughter? Would you respect that action?

Again, I'd be more impressed if he shut down his whole company to look for the daughter of an AmPad employee he was about to downsize, and not a fellow Vulture Capitalist.

I'm sure a Romney administration would be very good at taking care of the rich.

It's the rest of us I'm worried about.

AmPad invested in fucking typewriters when the rest of their competition was investing in computers. They signed their own death warrant.

But I am not surprised that you belittle Mitt, and do not acknowledge that what he did by closing his company so the staff could hit the street and search for a missing kid was of no consequence but his stupid treatment of his dog is worthy of debate.

You place no value on human life... that is clear.

You know why he's mad at Mitt? Cuz he can't keep a job and so has an irrational hatred of the evil Mormon, based on something that the evil Mormon did not say. Dude is brain dead. Which may be why he can't keep a job?

Too bad personal responsibility doesn't come in suppositories like Preporation H. :eusa_whistle:

Uh, the girl went to a rave and got stoned. NOt exactly high up on my sympathy list.

It should also be pointed out that Smith Corona only sold one plant to AmPad, and while they made typewriters there, that wasn't that plant's main product line.

It also should be pointed out that this all happened in the early 1990's, when typewriters were still largely in use in a lot of places.

The problem wasn't that the plant wasn't making a profit. It was that the workers refused to give up their union.

And if you really don't think that the unions with all their money aren't going to whap Romney hard about that in the fall, you are delusional.

Well, let's see now, in my lifetime of 50 years, I've watched the middle class decline while the big boys on Wall street have busted our unions, replaced our pensions with 401K's that go bust at will, manipulated the housing market and then took big bailouts while the rest of us are stuck with underwater mortgages.

I'm sure that if the country had a collective brain-fart and elected Romney (don't worry, they won't) he'd be doing more of the same.

Not that will happen if he keeps making comments about how he likes to be able to fire people.

I have no problem keeping jobs, sister. And unlike you, I actually have one. You're here 24/7 filling this board with your angry nonsense.

Fact is, the pendulum has swung away from the working class and towards the monied class, and the country is worse off for it.

'Mitt Romney looks like the guy who lays you off" - Mike Huckabee.

And whom is Huckabee? No one.

No matter WHAT Romney did, if he gutted his grandma and put her on a spit, he's still better than obama.

That's a matter of opinion.

Come on, get serious, guys. What's Obama really done. ObamaCare? They used to call that RomneyCare.

He extended the Bush tax cuts, he kept Gitmo Open, he completed Bush's wars... I'm just not seeing the big complaints.

I'm self employed... not that my life is your business.

There is no working class. We are a classless society. That's our Constitution.

Mike Huckabee.... an evangelical loser. Nice enough man, I'm sure. But he lost. And, most independents would not vote for Huckabee... because he's too evangelical. His opinion of Mitt Romney is ignorant. I don't judge anyone on their looks - and Mr Huckabee is not much of a Christian if he does.
