I just thought that I would start a new thread about this instead of trying to decide where to post this update since I've created a few threads about her, but we just heard from the vet that the cancer she has is irreversible as it's spread too far to do any surgery and chemotherapy would just make her extremely sick.

Right now she doesn't seem to be in pain though and is continuing enjoying living her life and she can eat, drink, and use the litterbox alright, but when the cancer gets too bad then she'll eventually wind up being euthanized. I currently don't know how long she's got, but I'm going to enjoy every minute that I have left with her. strollingbones, Coyote, you both have been keeping up with my updates about her the most, so I figured that I would tag you both so you would be aware about this.

Damn, I’m so sorry FJB, cancer just sucks :(. Spoil her like the princess she is (((hugs)) :(

Thanks. It's just that if they were to do surgery she would lose half of her face. I already know that we can always get a new cat after she goes, but she'll never be replaced. She's so cuddly, sweet, and loving. ❤️

Losing my cat was one of the hardest things I ever experienced. Im sorry man. That sucks. Can i give you some tough advice? When she starts hiding in weird places, its time to put her down. Cats do that when things are really bad. Dont let her suffer too much.

Dont let her suffer too much.

Don't worry we won't let it get to that point. It's still like a punch in the gut that there's nothing we can really do for her medically wise, although we're going to see what we can do to help her stop itching where her tumor is. (In the ear.)

Btw, I was already planning on spending the weekend with my fiancée and he's lost quite a few cats already so he knows how hard this is for me.

She looks like my Old Man that died in 2017 after nineteen years.

My condolences.

It sounds like any surgery would be so extreme as to affect her quality of life and still not cure the cancer :(

Basically yes. In the packet it says that usually these kinds of cancers are benign it's just that hers is really bad and she's only about nine years old too.

Very sorry to hear this.

We all love our little furry familiars.

Funny thing is I have five indoor cats now and one dog and about ten outdoor cats that I have fixed with the help of the SPCA and yes I am a male.

Cats are something of a joy in life and my dog loves those cats.

One day I came home and my door was open and the black cat Timo was on the bench with my dog sleeping…

Anyhoo, love your darling until she passes and remember the joy she brought into your life.

That's very sad to hear. I have four little graves in the back yard, marked with stones: Zada, Sabrina, Talulah, and Windy. My wife had Zada, Sabrina, and Talulah when we got married. Windy was just a kitten when I found her way up in a tree. I climbed up there and got her, and we took her in.

They seem to live for 10-12 years they succumb to feline diabetes. We currently have four cats: Rusty, who just showed up one day out of nowhere, Mattie, who was a little feral and we had to catch her in a live trap on the porch, Bodie, who a friend gave to us, and Max. I saw Max trying to cross an intersection by a Walmart before we got him. I tried to catch him but couldn't. A couple weeks later he was rescued and we adopted him. Rusty is the oldest and he's starting to show signs of diabetes.

Sends hugs and purrs...😿 Just watch for the clues as mentioned hiding in weird places, not eating/drinking. You know your cat best so you'll know when its time.

I’m so sorry. It’s really hard.

The one piece of advice I’d give is to let her die surrounded by those who love her. If you decide to put her down, do it in your house, not the vet’s office. They’re terrified of the vet’s office. They feel safe at home. Your loved ones should pass on where they feel safest and most loved.

You never know. When we were early in our marriage we had sister cats, one of which was mommies girl. Came down with something, rushed it to the vet, 2500 dollars of imaging led them to prescribe a med to this day I don't know what it was. She was instantly her old self until she wasn't 6-7 months later.

Oh no , sorry to hear this. It's a tough one. Lost my Voodoo Cat to cat lukemia when she was only 4 yrs..
It's a natural instinct for them to hide their pain and injuries as well, so you have to watch the signs closely, as others here have mentioned... enjoy your time with her! you obviously have given her a great life!
