Many Republicans Want an Unconstrained President

Nearly half of Republicans polled want a quasi-elected dictator or monarch, according to a recent poll. They feel a president should be able to operate with little interference from the courts or Congress, or in other words, the very checks and balances that keep us from being a dictatorship. 47% of Republicans who agreed with the minimal checks and balances statement are also supporting Trump for president. They would feel very differently, of course, were it Obama or Biden.

This is who MAGA is.

Your fear is entertaining…

Yes the American people want an America first potus

and yes DJT is very good at telling them what they want to hear

unfortunately , if the concentration of power to achieve their wishes occurs, we all go down a notch on the freedom meter....

Stop being willfully ignorant.

The link below explains Republicans’ advocacy of the unitary executive – an all-powerful, unchecked, unconstrained president – and why Republicans are wrong:

“This defense, however, reveals the two fundamental flaws of the Unitary view: first, that it is built on a fictional reading of constitutional design; and second, that its precepts attack the fundamental tenets of the checks and balances system that the Founders did create.”

Trump wants to get things done and Trump supporters want him to get those things done. With Dems and RINOs blocking his way, he has no choice but to use executive orders and other methods to get those things done.

I understand what you're saying, but what if the situation were reversed, and Biden supporters said they'd be fine with him breaking laws and rules and norms to get things done their way?

My guess is that you would say that's already happening, so Trump's plans are fine. Is that correct?
