Limbaugh silenced by sykes...

Then why do the repub "leaders" keep scurrying to apologize to him? You also might want to have a word with your former VP since he said that he'd rather have Rushbo and a spokesperson than Colin Powell.

You'd also have to acknowledge that Rush has gone out of his way to try to make it seem that he IS the spokesperson for the party.

Sad... your party would be so much better off listening to Powell.

Not my party Jillian. Steele apologizing was a mistake ....it was a personal mistake on his part. I do believe that Cheney has a right to his opinion on Colin Powell. I have an opinion on Colin Powell. Rush is an entertainer, and he is just expounding on what the left is putting forth..it's entertainment...nothing more, Jillian. Rush is the spokesperson for true conservatism, that's what he is all about... The left must really fear Rush to give him such credibilty.

And you must really respect him to defend him so hard.

Trust me, you may not want to admit it, but Rush is your leader, and you are a right wing nut job.

And we don't fear Rush. If we did, we would ignore him.

Just like Rush LOVES to pick fights, but he has NOTHING to say after Wanda embarrassed him.

Does he want to talk about his hatred for Obama/America or does he want to talk about his oxy cotton problem?

HA!

And so you guys must really fear Michael Moore & Al Franken. You even wrote a fucking book about it.
100 People screwing up America and Franken is number 37

MyDD :: The 100 People Who Are Screwing Up America

I'm not defending Rush, Old Rocks....I'm just putting Rush into perspective...something that you leftwingnuts can't seem to do. You might say I'm trying to educate you...to no avail apparently.
Bobo, I never once have mentioned Michael Moore, until this post. He has always been irrelevent to me. Old Rocks, I'm a conservative...not a liberal, and certainly not a socialist like yourself. I'm not sure why Rush decided not to say anything about the joke that went bad. I guess he will let her words speak for themselves...kind like what I have done to you in the past.
Finally, Bobo...I've never authored abook like you claim. So please show me the link where I have authored a book you dimwit.

Wanda Sykes is a popular comedian who just called out your leader.
Only the far left wingnuts think that Rush is the republican leader. You just keep showing yourself as a partisan hack bobo. You and Old Rocks are 2 peas from the same pod. :cuckoo:

Up until 2 weeks ago you guys were proud that Rush was your leader.

In fact, you chose him over Michael Steele.

U want 2 deny that now?

Who is your leader?

I don't know who "you guys" are, unless it's a couple of gerbals in your pocket. Please show me links to where Independants chose Rush as our leader.....or republicans too. So go play in your sandbox bobo

Isn't it funny how SPOT ON all of Michael Moore's movies have been?

Sicko, Fahrenheit 911, bowling for colombine, Roger & Me.

Obviously some one has never bothered to do any research after viewing Michael Moore's tripe. Easier to drink the Flavor Aid I suppose.

Fucking sheeple...

Well ... it's easy when they can follow someone who does no research on facts ...

BTW: Penn Jillette RULES!

See, there is no single ideology on the "left". That is where anyone who listens to Rush or Coultergeist gets it butt backwards. They decide in their head what the "left" believes and then excoriate it. Mostly, they make it up as they go along.

And no, rush isn't entertainment or the politico's wouldn't be taking him so seriously. I think the "right" really needs to realize thta Rush is trying to fill a power vacuum and be a kingmaker.

Rush isn't a conservative. He's a reactionary.

ahhhhh symmetry

Fucking sheeple...

We remember the research you guys did after each of his movies.

You trashed and bashed the 5% that might have been wrong and ignored the other 95% that he was RIGHT ON about.

Same way you went after Dan Rather for his story on Bush being MIA during the VIET NAM war.

Rove sent Rather that forged document and when Rather used it, they attacked him for using bad information. Then the story became about Rather, not Bush.

Didn't mean Bush wasn't a draft dodger, but it changed the subject. BRILLIANT!!!

You guys spend very little time attacking the facts Moore gives and a lot of time making fun of his appearance too, as if that matters.

So far you're wrong 95% and Moore is 95% right. Unless you want to show us all the "drivel".

And why are you guys so afraid of him? That was my point. You think we're afraid of Rush? Look at how I simply mentioned Moore and got you all off topic.

I know there is no single ideology on the left. My original post was talking about the "far left wingnuts". They do have a single idologue, which is socialism. The right doesn't have one single ideology either. The far right does, and that would be very limited government.
Manu1959 brought up the counter with Maddow, and Olberman. This isn't just a onesided issue, it comes from both sides of the center.
Rush is an entertainer, and the "politico's" do take him serious, as he is a tool for them to do such. They hit on him, and point to all republicans that they are this extreme. It's a ploy thats been used with the democrats since the 1990's, that I can remember. I'm not saying it's wrong...it sure works. But, they are trying to instill fear with people that aren't savy to politics. I'm not buying into that Rush is trying to fill a vacuum and be a kingmaker.

who is wanda sykes and why does her opinion matter.......

She's fine, if you're into the standup shows on Comedy Central. But not that venue. Somebody should have reviewed how far she intended to go. I think Obama & Co. want the Limbaugh thingie to go away.

Colbert was ripped by the right-wing media over his portrayal of looking for WMD and following Helen Thomas around, but that was MILD and not even very funny. So when you have Democrats like me complaining that Wanda Sykes was waaaaay out of line, that's a real problem. I thought the rest of the show was a hoot.

Why not Bill Cosby? He gets all flustered when talking about anything serious, like education, but give him a microphone and he's one of the funniest black comedians alive.

her opinion doesn't matter ...... and i don't find cosby funny, nothing but stupid voices and stupid stories....

Maybe I'm remembering too far back when he was Dr. Huxtabee. Whatever. The point is there are plenty of black comedians. Even Dick Gregory is still alive and kickin' in his 80's, I think.

Cosby is too conservative. He actually WANTS America's youth to be EDUCATED and not re-assimilated into the new world mindset. \

Barak knew EXACTLY what he was going to get from the likes of this woman. It's why she's there! You will NEVER catch a right leaning celebrity of ANY KIND behind that mic as long as Obama is in charge.

If Obama had any guts, he would PERSONALLY (not through his press secretary ) speak up and try to put this fire out. After all, it was HIS laughter at Sykes' comment that started this firestorm.

There's a firestorm? Although I thought Sykes was rude, I don't see any "firestorm" developing, except one that probably has gone viral because guys like you eat that stuff up like it really matters. It doesn't. By this time next week, you'll be demanding that Obama PERSONALLY [fill in blank] something else.

Also, the Press Corps dinner is not the one where the opposite party gets to "roast" the sitting party. That's the Gridiron Dinner, which is not a public event. We might get clips from it, but never the whole show. Obama actually skipped that one last March, but there will be plenty of material his opponents can use for next year.

Anyone catch Rush today.. I missed about half the show... still seems that he is shamed into submission... Maybe he only feels the need to attack Republicans these days... Maybe its because hes still poppin pills and wants the subject to die... Whatever the reason, it seems out of character for rush.. Listened to some ditto heads calling into savage last night, voluntarily revoking their ditto status since Rush is pussin out in this fight....

don't you remember the low life way they acted when the Bushes walked out at the inauguration in Jan.? It's nothing more than the same low class behavior.

NOW what are you talking about?

no...the whining of the right over a nanosecond long toss off line is what started this. The WPCD is supposed to get a little edgy. That's what political humor does. And her tastelessness was equal opportunity

"I hear you and Joe went on a little outing the other day for burgers. You guys can't be hanging out together in places like that. Whose idea was that? (beat) Nancy Pelosi's?"

you are aware there's no firestorm, right?

it's really a big nada....

I am surprised, however, that there aren't 10 threads saying how Keith Olbermann said she went too far. But you all need to stop sniveling over nothing. It's making you guys sound absurd.

Uh...ok...it's no firestorm. Which is why we're STILL talking about it. Olbermann mentioned it...it's been brought up just about EVERYWHERE. But it's ok for you to tell yourself that it's not important. It's a healthy way to get your z's each night. Keep it on the downlow...outa sight...outa mind. A clear conscience is a sign of poor memory or rabid denial.

The absurdity here is coming from the frantic attempt to keep it as quiet as possible.

So now I get it. You guys would PREFER that we jump all over YOU for criticizing Sykes' jokes and Obama's laughing at them. That way, YOUR conscience would be clear (heh heh) knowing that you were right all along--we rabid lefies will defend anything in our "Messiah's" name.

Yeppers, got us all figured out. :eusa_shhh:

What I "fear" about Limbaugh is that he seems to have so much influence over so many gullible people. What scares me is the level of intelligence of some of the masses of humanity out there. It seems to me that the days of common sense and rationality don't exist in Limbaugh's "true conservative" country. And it's also scaring the more sane conservatives who want to see the principles of the Grand Old Party not implode in a cesspool of ideological bullshit that doesn't work in the REAL WORLD.

As for Cheney... does he really even matter in the political landscape any more? Seems like the left never really cared what he said before, now all the sudden they care??

I hang on every word Dick Cheney says. In his interview with Bob Schieffer, did anyone catch the body language when Schieffer asked "Was President Bush aware of everything going on at the CIA?" Cheney's visibly shifted to the side and hesitated before answering "...he knew most of it."

Anyone following that administration closely (hard to do because it operated on the general principle of secrecy--what the public doesn't know, won't hurt them), figured it out from the beginning that it was Dick Cheney who called the shots, briefed Bush (however delicately so as not to be overt), and then only what he (Bush) needed to know to appease the citizenry. I think by the time Bush figured it out was around the time he refused to grant Libby a pardon. He finally put the screws back on his usurper.
