Let us do Yoga

I like her slogan. "A Yoga pose a day keeps the doctor away."

I am in a mood for some meditation. So I cordially invite you to join me in meditation with this Yogini. I always thought the benefits of meditation were limited to calming the mind and body. But it seems like it also helps improve your skin. Well, if you have exhausted all other options then give it a try and see if it helps your skin if you have use for lovely skin.

Let us try Triangle Pose. Since it is weekend, we can do more than just one pose, I suppose.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMamQFHE7Jc]Triangle Pose (Kristin McGee) - YouTube[/ame]

Done properly and consistently, there are many benefits to triangle pose:

Stretches legs, muscles around the knee, ankle joints, hips, groin muscles, hamstrings, calves, shoulders, chest and spine
Strengthens legs, knees, ankles, abdominals, obliques and back
Stimulates function of abdominal organs
Relieves stress
Improves digestion and constipation
Helps to alleviate back pain and symptoms of menopause
Used therapeutically for anxiety, infertility, neck pain and sciatica

Cat Pose:

Let us do some Yoga to get our day started. I like this video because it details the benefits along with how to do the pose.

Tonight we shall do Boat Pose. The benefits are being explained by the Yogini in the video. Please give it a try if you do not have any health issues.

We will do some Yoga poses/flow for neck and shoulders this evening. These poses strengthen neck and shoulders.

The quality of the video below is not great but the quality of the techniques shown by the Yogini is sound. So I hope you will watch it and benefit from it.

Does anyone have any suggestions for working around a bad knee? I've tried to work around it but the problem just seems to get in the way anyway. It really bothers me that I can't do what I need to when it flares up, so if anyone has any tips I'd be grateful.

Please see a qualified doctor for your knee issues. If your doctor does not stop you from practicing Yoga then give these little routines a try:

I just got back from the Wanderlust Yoga Festival held in Olympic Valley (Squaw Valley), California. All I can say is wow. What an amazing experience.

Today I want to introduce you to Chris Sharma, voted the best rock climber in the world. He is also an accomplished Yogi. Here is a video of him sharing his warmup routine before he undertakes a tough climb.

^ What do you find fascinating about it? May be if you share, people may get inspired to read it. :)

^ That is good enough and inspiring. I think I will make a note of reading it when I find myself in a reading mood. I have seen that book on the shelf of one of my Yoga teachers.

You didn't read and comprehend my post, did you. (That's not a question.)

"My wife just did one...before she packed on 25lbs of muscle, she used to be able to do a full backbend with her elbows touching the floor. She isn't quite that limber anymore."

The relevant words are highlighted.

^ Got ya. She did not get fat. She just gained muscles. I still think that loss of flexibility is not a good thing. Why did she gain so much muscle? Is she body building?
