Law abiding Wisconsinites afraid for their safety

For someone with the nic "in the middle".. you don't seem very middle of the road.

That must be because you're so radically extremist to your own wing of the spectrum you're incapable of even knowing where the middle lay. Kinda like how Osama bin Laden believed that anyone who didn't subscribe to his version of Islam was an enemy of Islam. Okay, you're blocked.

Block me too, asshole

You are what you eat.

You knuckleheads talk stupid since the summer of 2009, said all of the stupid things you said, acted hatefully as so many of you did, and now you cry when you get it back?

Really?
Wha.... OK... first off, I'd like an example of this... "talk stupid," which sounds strangely a lot like obama saying a couple policemen "acted stupidly." And then I'd like to know how you equate "talking" with "throwing a brick through someones front window," or "slashing someones tires." And yes, anyone who does that while sneaking around is a PUNK and a COWARD. They might as well wear their sheets because they're the same thing as a terrorist. Cowards that have to sneak around and hide.

Obama? That is a deflection, PR, and non sequitur.

The screaming rallies, the guns, the clubs, the threats, the rocks and stones and broken windows, the pulled down election signs, and all of that was somehow by the Left?

Bricks are wrong, and the ass holes who tried to intimidate since the summer of 2009 are just as bad. That's why several were warned before the second townhouse that acting like thugs would not be tolerated. Would not listen and they were arrested and handcuffed and escorted to the judge and put under bond to behave.

Stay in reality, please.
Stay in reality? PLEASE what the hell are you prattling about> Second townhouse?

Yes, they were. They were controlling access to the hall.

They denied (delayed) access to people with anti-healthcare-legislation signs. They let the union members with approved signs in. The result was a stacked hall which was reported on the local news as a group who overwhelmingly supported Obama's healthcare plan.

I do not believe that the media colluded in this. The media just reported it as they saw it. However, what they saw was the result of concerted activity of police and union members.

It was a breathtaking breach of the democratic principles of this country.

Of course the police were in on it....*wink *wink.

As I said to Inthemiddle, I am here and I presume that you are not.

I guess I can't blame you for not believing me. You really have to be here to understand the power and reach of unions in Wisconsin. I wouldn't have believed that the police would do anything like that if I hadn't heard it from people who were there.

I think it's very likely that Walker will go down, because of the unions' power and reach.

You don't take on that machine and not pay a price. It took guts to do what he did. And our state will be the better for it even though it might take years before the majority will admit it.

So..tell us. When this happened to you..what did you do about it? Whom did you complain to? Whom did you file that complaint to?

It did not happen to me. I told you - I heard about it from people who were there. It got minor publicity after the fact. I do not know if a formal complaint was ever pursued.

Ooooooh. So you weren't there either. So tell me, what did those people who were there do about it? Whom did they file a civil rights grievance with? Which agency in what town against what police dept.?

How convenient..............

Sorry, you seem like a nice enough person, but you can understand why some of us are a wee bit incredulous about this whole thing.

Got it: you have no clue. Quit your whining, suck it up, and call the police.

As GT quite conveniently demonstrated, many on the Left have no problem at all with breaking someone's windows or slashing their tires, if that other person is a conservative. GT's opinion seems to be that since they have conservative views then they are fair game and if they can't handle that then they are "cowards".

When Republicans were voted into control of the Wisconsin legislature, the Left responded by shutting down the government.

So basically the message that you're sending is that if there is an election and the Left wins...that's great and let's all go pass some new legislation...but if the Left loses...then it's time to shut down the entire process so legislation they don't like can't pass.

Yet, you people accuse Republicans of being the party of no? That's actually quite amusing.

You have no integrity, at all.

I clearly said that I have a problem with people breaking windows, yet here you are, 10's of posts later, saying the exact opposite (lying).

You take issue with the fact that my first comment was that people shouldn't be deterred by such minor things and should have the courage of their convictions.............which is in the Spirit of the Founding of this Country.........................and used my omission of denouncing the window breaking (as if anyone with common sense would HAVE to)...........................as my ENDORSEMENT of it.

Why? Because you're dishonest. Need I say more? My posts are there saying such.

Hopefully you wake up to being a little bit better of a person, today.

Minor things? Someone throwing a brick through your window or slashing your tires is a minor thing? What I took "issue" with you on was your calling people "cowards" because they were afraid of retaliation from the political opposition simply for putting a sign in their yard or a bumper sticker on their car. The person here being dishonest is you. You made an insensitive statement that showed your willingness to accept people's property being vandalized if they were conservatives and I called you on it. You're right....your posts are "there" and they say volumes.

"Well then, I guess the cowards won't sacrifice a window for their Beliefs. I don't blame them, really - I mean, who does take this shit seriously, and actually puts their neck on the line? So taboo." GT

"Well, the person throwing the brick is a coward, also, of course." GT

What's been proven here, GT...is that you made an incredibly insensitive statement...got called on it...made a pathetic attempt at justifying that statement...then decided to deny ever making it in the first place. How exactly does that make "me" a liar?

Insensitive to tell Americans not to be deterred by fear, and to stand up as citizens for what they believe in?

What Universe do you live on?

Our Country was founded upon a REVOLUTION. People fought and DIED for their beliefs.

That you continue to ignore that is the crux of how much integrity you can show in a Conversation. You're an ass hole, there's no better way to put it.

Insensitive my ass.

People that don't use their Voice in a Representative Democracy don't deserve the Freedom which it yields. It's not that difficult of a concept, and, contrary to your pompass arrogance, it is not an endorsement of violence or vandalism. Get a fucking grip.

Would have been a shame if those kinds of things had deterred people in the Civil Rights Movement.

But, let me interject that the fear is perhaps much worse than the actual acts of vandalism. It is a lot easier to say "I'm afraid someone MIGHT throw a rock thru my window if I put up a sign"...."I'm afraid someone MIGHT key my car if I put on a bumpersticker".....it is letting fear control you....or else it's a convenient excuse.

People who will not stand up for what they believe because they are afraid of smashed windows and slashed tires are cowards. Period.

When people like GT see a broken window or a slashed tire as a price that has to be paid to express your political beliefs and refers to anyone not willing to pay that price as a "coward", then people's fear is understandable.

Most people don't want to be around violence. It scares them. They will go out of their way to avoid such a situation.

The violence that will be taking place in the streets of America because of the OWS protests is an attempt by the Left to impose their values on the public...values that the public voted against in the 2010 midterms. It's no different than what took place in Wisconsin. The voters elected conservatives to fix a problem. The Left responded by shutting down the State House. During the 2010 midterms the voters elected conservatives to fix a problem. The Left has responded to that by attempting to shut down major cities across the country.
