The fact that YOU are an idiot is well known. The point of the video is that here we have a poor young woman being stabbed, and the people who tried to help her got stabbed as well. If a single person there had had a pistol she would have been the only casualty (other than the perp in all probability) and she would not have suffered as much damage.

Bullshit. I can think of at least 3 different occasions when 75+ year old women stopped a home invasion or attack with a pistol. And none of them had any formal training. They certainly never threw soda cans in the air and fired wildly at the horizon.

How many times are guns used to stop or prevent a crime. Are you claiming all of those people had a lot of training?

I am not saying people should not train. But your assertion that without training a gun means very little is ridiculous.

Sorry...you are wrong....Americans who carry and own guns stop at least 764,000 violent criminal attackers each year, and the average of 10 studies that exclude military and police shootings put the number of violent attacks stopped at 2 million a year.....and if you read actual encounters.....of real people....they defend themselves remarkably well with very little training....go to "The Armed Citizen," or gunssavelives...they actually categorize the stories by gun type if you want....and you can get a collection of real life experiences which show you are wrong....I post them here when I find them as well...

we do need to get rid of any fees and taxes that make it harder for low income people to get guns....as John Lott and other gun self defense scholars point out, they are the ones usually living in the most crime ridden places, and have the most needs for a gun since the access to police can be limited....
