It strikes me that the same crap liberals pulled in John Wayne's day they are still doing today.

Liberals have not changed. They are just the same old tired movement, so why do they call themselves "Progressive"?

Although the star of countless Westerns such as John Ford’s 1939 “Stagecoach” and 1953’s “Hondo” owned a ranch, the Duke “didn’t particularly like horses and preferred suits and tuxedos to chaps, jeans and boots,” according to his son, Michael Wayne. The prototypical cowpoke also favored the sea over the prairie.

According to Gary Wills’ book “John Wayne’s America,” the man who portrayed the archetypal, battle-hardened Marine, Sgt. Stryker, in 1949’s “The Sands of Iwo Jima,” actually avoided the draft during WWII. Wills contends that the Duke did not reply to letters from the Selective Service system, and applied for deferments. Apparently, Wayne—who had sought stardom during years of B-pictures following Raoul Walsh’s 1930 frontier drama “The Big Trail”—got his big break during the struggle against fascism when many Hollywood action heroes like Tyrone Power enlisted and shipped out overseas.

With much of the competition away in the Pacific and European theaters, Wayne was able to storm movie theaters to solidify his stardom. While Jimmy Stewart and his fellow celebrity servicemen were real action heroes, Wayne was a “Lights! Cameras! Action!” hero who merely played the part in the safety of Tinseltown’s home front and back lot.

Religion need not be a collectivist movement, that is, not one that focuses on political control.

Christians learned their lesson when Constantine started a theocracy under Christ. Not many know this, but Constantine was not even a Christian. He continued to worship pagan gods, although it was rumored he converted on his death bed.

Christ openly said that his kingdom was not of this world and made no indication he was after political power of any kind. This I have no problem with.

However, politics and Islam are inseparable thanks to the teachings of Mo and Sharia law. Muslims seem to be the collectivists of the future.

The funny thing is, both theocracy type approaches all seem to all hate Jews.

So while Obama compares Christians to Muslims by saying that Christians had their "Crusades" and are no better than Muslims, he conveniently does not see or refuses to see why the two are comparable in the first place. It is all because both created a collectivist war machine, something Jesus never advocated.

The Founding Fathers had it right. They saw the corruption between state involvement and the pulpit and made laws against it.

Keep in mind, they were heavily influenced by Christian thought.

With Sharia law, however, there is no hope of this. They will forever be ruled by their religious leaders and told how to live and what to think, all state sponsored.

Then again, Hillary just said that Christians need to change their beliefs on abortion and gay marriage, so we shall see if she crosses the line.

Will use state coercion to change these doctrines in the churches? Should she?

Smith distinguished himself by acts of gallantry and intrepidity above and beyond the call of duty in action with an armed enemy near Baghdad International Airport, Baghdad, Iraq on 4 April 2003. On that day, Sergeant First Class Smith was engaged in the construction of a prisoner of war holding area when his Task Force was violently attacked by a company-sized enemy force. Realizing the vulnerability of over 100 fellow soldiers, Sergeant First Class Smith quickly organized a hasty defense consisting of two platoons of soldiers, one Bradley Fighting Vehicle and three armored personnel carriers. As the fight developed, Sergeant First Class Smith braved hostile enemy fire to personally engage the enemy with hand grenades and anti-tank weapons, and organized the evacuation of three wounded soldiers from an armored personnel carrier struck by a rocket propelled grenade and a 60mm mortar round. Fearing the enemy would overrun their defenses, Sergeant First Class Smith moved under withering enemy fire to man a .50 caliber machine gun mounted on a damaged armored personnel carrier.
