John Kerry 2016?

Kerry would make a great candidate

Like to see him run. He is more qualified than any republican and even more qualified than Hillary. Unlike potential Republicans, he is also a war hero

Very bravely suffered his self inflicted shrapnel wounds.

Double down on the Swiftboat lies

Again, which Republican has a military record that even remotely equates to Kerry?

I can't think of a Republican who accused American soldiers of committing war crimes.....

So no Republican every admitted that Calley and likely Medina committed war crimes?

Genghis Khan?

Idiot-gram ^^^ I suppose the new right has a new Messiah, CrusaderFrank. Since they have nothing of substance to report, they default to absurdity.

they default to absurdity.

I agree, it was absurd when Kerry said that.

Do you just make shit up or do you hear it on rightwing media?

Kerry never met with the enemy, he testified before Congress.

So you're saying that you don't feel that John Kerry's 1971 testimony before the Senate Committee was dishonest?

I tend to agree... .

But in his defense, the North Vietnamese confirmed Kerry's sworn testimony before the US Senate, that he did in fact sit down with the North Vietnamese delegation at the Paris Peace Talks, without authorization of the US Government... .

SO...

Once again, you're 'feelings' are demonstrated to be mired in ignorant foolishness.

Kerry fought in the war and like many, realized the war was a sham

Like many war protesters, Kerry helped to end a senseless war and saved American lives

Yeah... the war was a bad thing.

And that is because the US was trying to defend freedom in South Vietnam... and the Left feels that the US was NOT defending freedom, that if the US had not intervened, that the Communists would have changed little or nothing would change and that the US was lying that the Communists intended harm to the people of South Vietnam.

Now John Kerry was asked about that in his testimony before the Senate... and when he asked how many South Vietnamese nationals HE THOUGHT would be killed if the US pulled out of Vietnam, he responded 'likely upwards of 3000', of course the number of people killed by the communist was just a tad over that, but he only missed by 2, 997,000.

Which just to give ya idea... the total number of PEOPLE killed from 1954 to 1974 as a result of the Communist aggression against South Vietnam was 1.3 million. That's total casualties... military, civilian and includes all combatant parties on both sides: AS A RESULT OF THE WAR!

Which for those keeping score is LESS THAN HALF of the innocents that the COMMUNISTS MURDERED AFTER THE WAR WAS OVER.

So... well, you know.

War protesters like Jane Fonda and John Kerry were on the right side of history on Viet Nam. The war Hawks who repeatedly escalated a senseless war and killed 60,000 Americans were the real criminals
You mean like He Who's Name Shall Never Be Mentioned, the great Dem President LBJ?

HIS lies cost 60,000 dead.

The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution was passed unanimously by the H. of Rep. and only two Senators voted no: Wayne Morris (D-OR) and Ernest Gruening (D-AK); The deaths of 58,000 US Service Personnel have many fathers; Nearly half of the KIA's occurred on Nixon's watch.

Here is a little history for those whose since of history has been distorted by the Minister's of Truth:

The History Place - Vietnam War 1969-1975

"April 30, 1969 - U.S. troop levels peak at 543,400. There have been 33,641 Americans killed by now, a total greater than the Korean War."

"March 29, 1971 - Lt. William Calley is found guilty of the murder of 22 My Lai civilians. He is sentenced to life imprisonment with hard labor, however, the sentence is later reduced to 20 years, then 10 years. Out of 16 military personnel charged with offenses concerning the My Lai massacre, only five were actually court-martialed, and only Calley was ever found guilty.

April 1, 1971 - President Nixon orders Calley released pending his appeal.

April 19, 1971 - 'Vietnam Veterans Against the War' begin a week of nationwide protests.

April 24, 1971 - Another mass demonstration is held in Washington attracting nearly 200,000.

April 29, 1971 - Total American deaths in Vietnam surpass 45,000.

April 30, 1971 - The last U.S. Marine combat units depart Vietnam.

May 3-5 - A mass arrest of 12,000 protesters occurs in Washington."

So all of that was designed to refute that LBJ was responsible for the Vietnam War?

ROFLMNAO!

Here's the problem... everything except the paragraph relevant to the GoT resolution was IRRELEVANT to that which it hoped to refute.

Gulf of Tonkin incident was a false flag operation cooked up by Lyndon Johnson and Robert McNamara to give them an excuse to send American troops into a jungle war we were not committed to winning. The result? 55,000 Americans dead. Thanks, liberals.

Democrats don't have a candidate. They wrote Hillary off. No one is seriously suggesting Kerry. Cuomo did himself in by crying over the protests in New York. The democrats are milling around Liz Warren as if that the whiney voiced loser has a chance. The energy in the Democratic party is being sucked out by obama. Defending him is a part time job.

There is still time. Someone may rise to the top but democrats don't have a serious candidate now.

Only in the tiny little partisan mind of arrogant assholes, challenged by reality.

Nixon campaigned on, "I have a plan", meaning to end the Vietnam Conflict - his plan took another six years and cost more lives, limbs, vision and psychological health of our military members, and ended in abject failure. Kerry was correct, as were the thousands of combat vets who protested the war and other vets who stood by them.

As early as 1967, when I was in boot camp at NTCSD, we were already questioning the wisdom of the Vietnam Conflict. In fact when all the companies were brought together for an indoctrination as to the purpose of our involvement, it was cut short after several minutes when questiones were fired at the presenters, questioning not only its wisdom but its legitimacy. The base command staff came in and we were all ordered to attention and shortly marched out, where we stood in formation as we waited for our company commander to find out what we needed to do next.

Your concession is duly noted and summarily accepted.

Either Clinton, Warren, Kerry or Biden would beat the current weak field of Republicans

Kerry was not a war hero, he was a damn traitor.

Did you serve during the Vietnam War? I did, and he said what many of us felt.

Golly... Socialists 'feeling' that the US was wrong to contest socialism?

LOL!

The same socialism that murdered 3 MILLION of those the US was defending, after the Left, in large thanks to John Kerry, shut down the US contest of communism in SE Asia, it follows that history proved that the US was correct in trying to help 'em.

Sadly, the Left had largely reduced US Combat effectiveness through its infiltration of the US military command, which allowed military discipline fall to its lowest point, ever... and by virtue of its control of the CinC prevented the US from engaging in a sustainable strategy to defeat the communist, thus establishing as FACT the Left's conspiracy to derail the war against communism... right there in the wake of the assassination of JFK, a life long and unwavering anti-communist.

So... yeah. Those who 'feel' 'like you' are THE PROBLEM!

Can Secretary of State and former Massachusetts senator John Kerry win the presidency in 2016? Would he be a gift to Republicans? Can he get a second chance from 2004?

If the Democrats nominated Kerry, the Republicans would probably do the favor right back and nominate Romney again. Republicans are their own worst enemy when picking candidates, they constantly pick the worst one they can find and pull the Democrats bacon out of the fire.

I don't know. but I ran into a guy from my high school one night on liberty who claimed he was on Turner Joy, he was drunk and told me your false flag allegation was true. Herein is another version:

"USS Turner Joy, a 2850-ton Forrest Sherman/Hull class destroyer, was built at Seattle, Washington. After commissioning in August 1959 she cruised down the Pacific coast to visit South America. In May of the next year the destroyer steamed across the Pacific to begin the first of a dozen deployments to Asian waters. Her return to the U.S. in November 1960 was followed by a year and a half of duty in the eastern Pacific, then another Seventh Fleet tour during the last half of 1962. Turner Joy's third Western Pacific cruise, between March and October 1964, was historic. While serving with the aircraft carrier Ticonderoga on 2 August she was sent to reinforce the destroyer Maddox after the latter was attacked by North Vietnamese motor torpedo boats. Two days later, on the night of 4 August, the two ships believed they were again under attack and took vigorous countermeasures. This Gulf of Tonkin Incident was an important preliminary to the United States' long and painful combat experience in Southeast Asia."

I'm inclined to believe the official version, not the drunks or yours, however, even if true the response was way over the top and in fact killed too many of my generation, including three in my Jr. Hi Homeroom, two I played baseball with and my next door neighbor.

Kerry's a treasonous idiot and all around piece of shit.

He nay get the nod and that would be all she wrote...

Both Kerry and Clinton are lucky in that they would get to run against a weak Republucan field. Both would win easily

And yet no dominoes fell; today Vietnam is a vacation destination, and a trading partner with the US. The RED SCARE then and now is nothing more than the usual hate and fear propaganda of the ultra conservative meme, an ideological foundation build on emotion sans reason.
