This bears repeating: "Lagos, the 5th most populated city on Earth with far less infrastructure and less sanitary conditions than those found in the US, managed not to have a widespread outbreak."Who said it isn't contagious? The point of the OP is that people should stop the hysteria and panic over Ebola.Have so few people in Dallas come down with it?
If it's not contagious, then why are so many people in West Africa dying from it?
Nigeria saw 20 cases of Ebola and is about to be declared Ebola free in a few days since they have had no new cases in 6 weeks. Lagos, the 5th most populated city on Earth with far less infrastructure and less sanitary conditions than those found in the US, managed not to have a widespread outbreak.
Lagos has 5.195 MILLION people. Twenty (20) people in Nigeria have come down with Ebola. Eight (8) have died. There have been no new cases since September 8, 2014.
This does not equate to "so many people dying of it." Eight people out of 166.2 million people. Nigeria has a total population of 166.2 million people. Eight people have died of Ebola.
Germany, Norway and France and the UK have all treated patients who contracted the virus in West Africa. No one in those countries has contracted the disease.
The disease spreads in countries without good sanitary and medical facilities, 3rd world countries.
