It still let people in via checkpoints. They are credited with success for:

20 people infected, eight died, that 40% kill rate I believe. Not bad but looks like we are going to beat it.

And apparently, according to WHO, you must have no active cases to be declared Ebola free. We aren't quite there yet.

There's been 8 cases treated in the US and so far only 1 has died. It the rest survive, then the death rate is looking like 12.5%. I suspect the death rate will end up being lower as we get better at early diagnosing and treatment. Also, the CDC has several experimental anti-viral drugs under consideration.

If you would do a little reading, you will find that the symptoms of both the Flu and Ebola are very much the same. Both are viruses so they do not respond to antibiotics. We treat both primarily by treating the symptoms. Anti-viral drugs have limited success with the flu and their use with Ebola is experimental.

Ebola is less contagious than the Flu but once infected, it's more dangerous. However, the flu is a much greater danger than Ebola in the US. Tens of thousands of people die with it and over 200,000 are hospitalized in the US each year.
