I am not asking the government to nationalize businesses, nor to manage the means and distribution of production and products.

I do believe that if businesses are going to be treated as a "person" subject to Citizens United, then business are expected to follow the law.

The law is that a business cannot knowingly hire illegal aliens, from yard care to domestic to whatever.

You want an unregulated business world, and that would turn us all into terrified peons.

This I agree with. The problem is that businesses will never allow the government to turn them into persons, because they would lose assets and trading freedom that way.

It's pretty clear that actually just enforcing the laws dissuades some/ a lot of this, so a wall is not the answer that necessarily solves the most problems.

The BUT is that a wall is relatively permanent, an administration is not. I'd build it, or stretches, as part of an overall strategy if for no other reason than an administration down the road won't likely take it into their head to just tear it down.
