This is a very informative article, and it's non-partisan. It highlights the obvious fact that the NICS federal background checks systems must be improved. Even if a universal background checks system is approved, the system won't be effective until all relevant information is fed into the system.

So what you're saying is that the system doesn't work in the first place and there's no need to create new laws but a pressing need to fix the system.

What I'm seeing is that the system for background checks doesn't work properly therefore there's no need for new laws on guns to suppress the rights of the people to own and purchase guns... There is a pressing need however for the government to quit operating incompetently like it did during the Fast & Furious operation...
