When Joe Biden's son took the position with the Ukrainian Energy company, George Kent went to the administration and said that he felt it was a bad idea. Kent said the problem was the appearance of potential conflict of interest. While in Ukraine he saw no conflict of interest.
He continued in Ukraine through the current time. He has said that Trump used US assets to request personal favor from a foreign government. He said there was no doubt that there was quid pro quo. The favor asked by Trump did not support the stated US goals in Ukraine.
