From the piece:

"There are 42 men and women running for offices at the federal, state and local levels this year with the formal endorsement of the Democratic Socialists of America, the organization says. They span 20 states, including Florida, Hawaii, Kansas and Michigan."

"The most ambitious Democrats in Washington have been reluctant to embrace the label, even as they embrace the policies defining modern-day democratic socialism: Medicare for all, a $15 minimum wage, free college tuition and the abolition of the federal department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, also known as ICE."

What do you think, fellow Americans and others? Has the Democrat Party run out of other options? Do you support the idea of a socialist America, and if so, why? Is anything but "Trump" justification in your minds for voting socialist?

If the corps get socialism , and if by socialism you mean healthcare for all, Yes. Also I believe in progressive taxation for that, and the rich should have that top bracket moved up to say 45%.

What is your justification for taking nearly half of one's income?

I don't. I pay taxes and want my tax money going to Public Schools, Medicaid and HUD, SNAP and CHIP.

How do you feel about corps living tax free and allowed to pollute?

You want your money going to failed bureaucracies?

That's smart.

Like it is now??? With Trump and his freedom caucus and the tea partyers.

Yes. Yes it does. The people mentioned in the sentence you quoted is a synonym for the government. Big, controlling government. I agree, the idea of people actually running the government sounds awesome. But it has never happened. Not once in history.
Please explain why you think that. Does it say or imply somewhere on their website? Or is it just what republicans think?

There will of course have to be a government. Will it be large or small? I don't know. It certainly isn't getting smaller under either major party, could these folks really do any worse?

The readily readable history of socialism is where you will find your answer.

I think you are confusing communism with socialism.

Please explain your interpretation of socialism.

Waco is communism, and socialism is actually Christianity , not capitalism.

WTF?????

Apologies, but that assessment is ridiculous and very deceptive--a falsehood sold to tens of millions and more throughout near modern history. You still have not provided an in-depth interpretation of socialism and its benefits for America.

Did anyone else actually bother to read their website?

Blame Trump? Democrats almost ran a socialist in the last election until Hillary cheated in the debates. Democrats have been flirting with socialism since FDR was president. It's refreshing that they finally came out of the socialist closet. It makes the choices in the election booth so much easier.

I'll play, but then you're up.

On Monday democratic socialism is the new constitutional republic. On Tuesday the new government promises the People they'll run government, industry and the economy, democratically, by the following Sunday. On Wednesday, the new government seizes control of all three-- in the People's name. On Thursday the "free press" becomes a government industry. On Friday, the government decides all electronic devices (manufactured by the gov.) must be gov. issued; that evening they create a list of those qualified to own them, of course, all in the name of the People.

On Saturday morning, the government has finished dividing the People into their assigned identity groups, by race, sexual preference and religion. That night sees a massive, nationwide celebration to mark the People's victories over evil capitalism. On Sunday the new government decides the People are too naïve to fully appreciate the intricacies of their new government. In the People's best interest the government announces it will hand over power, but only after a five year break in period during which the People must be re-educated in the ways of American socialism. In the meantime, a total martial lockdown occurs--also for the good and security of the people.

The next day: enjoy the fruits of your democratic socialism--a land of splendor where everyone is so equal and free that the first person to insult their neighbor's freedom by exercising their own freedom is charged with a hate crime and removed from society. A nation where convenience and grocery stores receive government allotments of food, fuel and medicine--not based on population density or need--but the value of their identity group's currency who live there. And finally, enjoy the after dark safety in your new national paradise of roving gangs of government thugs hired randomly from immigrant groups and freed prisoners sanctioned to do whatever they like to you and your family--of course--in the name of the People.

Rock on you socialist cat you.

As opposed to those who lie outright, repeatedly, regardless of facts or attempt to reason with them.

Socialists are joining the Democrats in huge numbers

There are 42 people running for offices at the federal, state and local levels this year with the formal endorsement of the Democratic Socialists of America, the organization says. They span 20 states, including Florida, Hawaii, Kansas and Michigan.
New York congresswoman Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez is a member of the DSA. Bernie Sanders is among the membership, as is Maine Democrat Zak Ringelstein. The group wants medicare for all, free college, and the abolishment of ICE.

With this new wave of Socialism sweeping the Democratic party and it isn't just on local levels. This is a national movement. They may as well rename the Democratic Party the new National Socialist Party. Oh wait....

How does that compare to the numbers that are leaving the Dems? I'm guessing the numbers coming in are not as high as the numbers going out. But we'll see come November.

Probably 2/3 of the Democrats in Congress have been outright socialists for decades. The only difference now is that they believe they can come out of the closet.

No one is "coming in." These people have always registered as Democrats.

It's a good sign that the democrat party is finally discarding the smoke and mirrors and coming out of the socialist closet. The hard core democrat base has always been socialists since FDR was president. It makes it so much easier to distinguish the difference between the two parties in the election booth.
