China needs to be put in their place on trade.

China can endure a level of economic pain far beyond what we can. Trump is playing a dangerous game with an adversary that has designed it's economy to be a weapon. We do not stand a chance of coming out of this with anything resembling a win.
How the hell are they in better shape than us when their entire economy is based on shipping to us? Our exports aren't going anywhere. Theirs are ruined if we put tariffs on them. There's no dangerous game. You just need to have the balls to hang in there and not let them run over us.
Do you remember back in the olden days when republicans were in lust with the "free market" and would have cut their own throats before they did a damned thing to stop the hemorrhage of jobs going overseas? That was the time to have a trade war we could have won. Now that we have far less leverage Trump is picking a fight with a foe that has been preparing for this moment for decades. This is going to hurt.

I’m right here. What are you getting at? Wait a minute, you’re not going all ‘Internet tough guy,’ are you? Have a little more dignity than that.

Son you can keep running.
This isn't about everyone else. I'm the one who knows what you aren't.

And all your irrational ranting has what exactly to do with China and the global economy?

You're running kid. I'm good. Again, this is about you and I. You're trying to drag everyone else into it.
You have my PM's, you decline to tell me where you are.
It's all good, you aren't the first to run.

Where are we running to? China? I haven't been there in a while. Anyplace special? It's a big country; lots to see, nice people.

Keep running kid.

Hello? China? Economy? Trade?

Last week, Trump said that if China doesn't improve on trade, he was going to increase the tariffs from 10 percent to 25 percent.

On Monday, the stock market opened at around 400 points in the negative, but was able to climb back to close just 65 points down.

Today? Major loss on the stock market. It dropped 473 points, and closed at 25,965.

That is because Trump opened his big fat pie hole again. And his sheep on this forum keep telling me the market stagnation is not because of the stupid trade war.
I didn't see anyone say that. Stocks are down because the companies relying on the cheap labor of China are going to take a hit on their profits with the tariffs. So what? Do you want fair trade and jobs here or high stock prices with a welfare state?

They will not take a hit, prices will go up and Americans will pay more. A tariff is just a fancy name for a tax
Of course they'll take a hit. It's no different than demanding a $15 minimum wage. A tariff does the same thing. It adds costs to doing business. How are the Chinese going to absorb those costs?

You know that 80% of the jobs lost did not go overseas but were lost to automation and efficiency improvements, right?

That is why as we were hemorrhage manufacturing jobs, manufacturing production kept going up and up even as the number of employees went down and down

I do not support any minimum wage nor do I support tariffs.

I do remember those days. I also remember the democrats and the weak repubs giving out crap trade deals during that time.

We can win this trade war easily. If people like you can find the balls to fight it. It may hurt short time. Wars are like that. If you don't surrender though you can win and everything gets much better. Let Trump do what he needs to do to fix this and suck it up for a while. If not then we have your surrender letter in your post.

I agree. But we're going to have to do something to get rid of both. Like killing off socialism in WWII it's going to take a short term sacrifice. At least this time it's just on the financial books instead of people.

The key to China's economic future lies in the maturity of a domestically-consuming middle class. If they get that firmly in place, the cheap labor shifts southeast and China becomes an even more valuable trade partner to the US.

Forcing Americans to pay more for stuff will teach those Chinese a thing or two!
MAGA!
Aren't you the same people that want $15 dollar an hour minimum wages? Isn't that making Americans pay more?
You've got me there...It's much better to pay more taxes...ooops, sorry, tariffs...to the government.
Holy shit. A left winger is upset people have to pay more to the government. Maybe we can just raise taxes on the Chinese and make them pay their fair share.

Under the current trade deals we have...

the longest period of positive job growth in the history of the country.

the 2nd longest period of economic expansion in the history of the country (will be the longest in 2 months)

record low sustained unemployment

more jobs than people to fill them

record setting financial markets till the trade war started.

Which of those things would you like the new trade deals to get rid of?

China is our biggest concern...Diane Feinstein had a Chinese spy as an office manager...maybe we need to check all of the dems staff.....

You need to learn the quote feature kid.

You seem to call everyone "kid." Are you from a bad 1940s gangster film?

Keep running boi.

Does anyone over the age of 13 spell "boy" as "boi"?
Sadly...no...lol

They can't afford a trade war interupting that. It hurts them far more than it does us having a t-shirt cost an extra dollar.

Isn't it past your bed time? Have your mommy give you the cookie and tuck you in.

Yea, I must have overlooked the fine print where it says the stock market was a guarantee.
