This name has several advantages over “Obamacare”:

1) It follows the pattern of other names with which Americans are already familiar: Medicare, Medicaid and now Obama’s Medikill.

2) It clearly indicates that Obama’s plan spells the actual death of quality, affordable, readily available health care – the complete opposite of the way he presents it to the American public, and not the flattering, self-serving and deceptive description he prefers.

3) By still putting Obama’s name on it, and by adding Democrats, it sticks them with responsibility for the hardships that many Americans are already beginning to suffer. It’s a plan that will destroy something good – quality, affordable, readily available health care, and it’s true!

4) It turns “Obamacare” into an object of ridicule.

I did hear one ignorant bozo asking why President Obama named it after himself. There was a 'man int the street' interviewer asking which one plan they liked - The Affordable Care Act or ObamaCare.

Ignorant fools answered The Affordable Care Act.

President Obama has every reason and right to be proud of his legacy and calling it ObamaCare guarantees he'll be remembered for giving us what every other first world country has and the US deserves. Nowhere near perfect but a damn good start.

Canada is not very much like the US, despite outward appearances. For one thing, Canada has 35 million people, the US has 317 million. Such a large and diverse population in the US makes it far more complicated to do anything than in a small (population-wise) country like Canada.. My point was, for people who understand how to think, not how identical the programs are but that people tend to be resistant to change: it's a typical human behavior.
