Bunning gave in

Studebacher Hoch can write the Lord's Prayer on the head of a pin!

(Thanks to VaYank for starting the non sequitur contest)

So, you see Bunning's previous votes on things we couldn't pay for as non related to this topic? How?

By "previous" do you mean prior to Obama singing PayGo into law?

Nope. I mean ALL of his previous votes for things we couldn't pay for. Bunning stood up last night and TRIED unsuccessfully to present himself and his stance as an issue of principle. IF this turd were a man of principle, ALL of his votes would have been against things he knew we couldn't pay for. Now, he just looks like an old hypocrite.....like most of his GOP brethren.

A Parable of sorts...

You are unemployed. You have absolutely no income. It is your wife's birthday and you want to do something nice for the woman you love. You hop in your car and drive down to the local jewelry store and purchase a very expensive ruby and diamond necklace and pay for it by charging it on your credit card. You carry the necklace home and during supper you give it to your wife. She is thrilled because after all, how many women do not like nice jewelry? For about a month, you are a hero and are on the most favored list of your wife. Then the day arrives that the bill from the credit card company comes in the mail. Your wife opens the envelope and sees that you charged her necklace on the card and she is frantic and upset because at this time the family has absolutely no income because you are out of work. She is pissed because she received the necklace thinking that it was paid for and now there is the stress associated with having that necklace and no way to pay for it. Also you look like a fool for making such a purchase at a very bad economic time within the family. In order to pay for this necklace you must go to your brother and beg him for a loan.

This is pretty much the way Congress is passing this bill to extend the benefits for the folks out of work right now with the unemployment checks.

Ahh but the feds have income, just not enough.
When outgo exceeds income, raise the price aka taxes.
Just standard business process.
Especially if you have a captive audience like a govt or health care corp does.

Here's an delightfully ironic tidbit. Bunning wanted this 10 billion dollar bill paid for??

In 2006 Bunning voted FOR an extension of Bush tax cuts, that according to the CBO's estimate would lose, in 2010,

10 billion in revenues.:lol::lol:

Was 2006 before or after Obama signed PayGo into law?

So your acknowledging that Bunning's fervor for pay as you go magically appeared AFTER the Democrats took power?

You don't need a law on the books passed by the opposition in order to have principles. Or in Bunning's case...

...do you?

Did Obama have his fingers crossed when he signed PayGo into law? Is that his out?

Why did we not have paygo for so many years?

What fucking difference would it make?

PAYGO was allowed to expire in 2002 by Bush and the Republican Congress. They promptly passed the Medicare part D prescription drug bill, i.e., HEALTHCARE REFORM that was NOT deficit neutral (they admitted it wouldn't meet PAYGO rules)

and one of the senators who voted for it was?

any guesses? Now let's not always see the same hands...

Jim Bunning !!!
