A former Kentucky county official who refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples must pay a total of $260,104 in fees and expenses to attorneys who represented one couple, a federal judge has ruled.

That judgment against Kim Davis is in addition to a total of $100,000 in damages a jury said she should pay the couple who won a lawsuit against her.

Attorneys for Davis had argued that the fee request by the couple’s lawyers was excessive, but U.S. District Judge David L. Bunning said he disagreed.

Bunning called one claim by Davis’ lawyers exaggerated and said another “belies logic.”

how dare that bitch think she can believe something outside the group think,,,

This so-called "Christian" needs to remember, as do most if not all so-called "Christians" need to remember that the United States of America has the Separation of Church and State.

There is no State Condoned/no State Mandated/State Controlled/State Sanctioned Religion. The Constitution is very clear on that. "Congress Shall No Law Respecting An Establishment of Religion or Preventing The Free Exericse Thereof."

Regarding what so-called "Christian" may or maynot believe, did not and does not have the right to impose her twist, sick as shit religion on anyone else.

Arguably it's the state government that should be paying those damages since they failed so badly during her hiring process.

Maybe that will teach her to mind her own business, just do her job and leave those people alone. They didn't ask her to marry them, just sign the damned license and accept the money for the state.

She held the office, she alone was responsible for conduct of those not only under her supervision, she is also responsible for upholding the laws of state and of the country. Her actions alone make her responsible making do on the court's judgement.

I agree with her stance but she had no right to do what she did. Sometimes the only thing a person can do is to suffer loss in standing up for what they believe. That said, I doubt seriously that the winners will ever see a dime.

On appeal, it would not surprise if it were reduced, but I expect she will pay the attorney fees and some settlement to the plaintiffs. She lost more than standing, and a lesson is sent across the land.

Gee and Lois Lerner..who targeted conservative groups got off Scott free…and was allowed to retire…with a pension.

Funny how that works if you are on the left…

Do any of you Lefties recall the DEFENSE OF MARRIAGE ACT, a Federal law by which a BI-PARTISAN collection of legislators and a DEMOCRAT PRESIDENT tried to forever prevent sexual preeeeeeeeeverts from inducing the States to sanction their vile, sinful lifestyles?

It must have been HUNDREDS OF YEARS AGO, eh? Yes. Hell it was in ANOTHER CENTURY...1996, to be exact.

So tell us again how this innocent and well-intentioned local bureaucrat has a viewpoint that no rational human could EVER HAVE.

As for the case itself. The preeeverts suffered NO DAMAGES whatsoever, which is why the decision makes perfect sense. I hope the bitch delares bankruptcy and the bastard lawyers don't get a penny. But that's just me.

Yeah.....if she had done that we wouldn't have men using the ladies room and lesbians shooting up schools in Nashville.
