Be more like Canada

You've distorted our economic system, opening the door for an openness to socialism.
Your simplistic, binary approaches to health care, race and taxation are frustrating.
Your immigration policies are primitive, wasteful and counter-productive.
Some of your cultural policies are ugly to me.
All of the above are distortions, myopic, obtuse, tribalist, and border on childish insults.

EXACTLY
But Mac1958 frames his rhetoric in such a way that he’s thoroughly impressed by himself, like all Lefties, he loves to hear himself talk and HATES to listen to anyone talk differently....I routed him through a line of questioning and right when he recognized he was being railroaded he got paranoid...just as all typical twisted Lefties do...hahaha, good stuff.

Wow, I really do get up in your heads. Cool.
And -there's- deflection, distortion, obtuseness and outright lies.
Given your standard, expressed previously, tell us why you do not consider yourself a wingnut.
You can think of me in any context you'd like.

I just don't care. Sorry.

Well, they think that ALL policies they're pitching are good for Americans, in the America that they want to see.

They see things differently than you do.

I realize you think that you can "beat" them, and get most everything your way. I don't see that happening, but I could be wrong.

I definitely think that much of what they're pushing is not a good idea. Unfortunately, I think the same about what the other tribe is pushing. That's because the two tribes are so far apart that there's plenty of room for those of us who don't belong to a tribe.
.

“Everything my way”...huh...You mean keeping America the America it’s been for half a century?
What exactly is the other tribe (my tribe) pushing that you believe is a bad idea?

This is fun...be bold, be honest and give us a quick explanation of how you arrive at what you describe above...Something brief with each bullet point would be great.
Blech. I cover these topics all the time. And I know I'd be wasting my time.

Just declare that I'm afraid of you and move on. I'll sign off on it.
.

Haha...it’s getting hot in here isn’t it...I’m kinda forcing you to be transparent and make clear admissions huh? Stepping out of the bubble of ambiguity is so scary huh? Haha...you are very much like a Berkeley scholar..scared shitless of those whom are too sensible. I love it...thanks Mac.
Okay, sure.

You're just too smart and sensible for me, no doubt about it.

Got it...and you believe that ‘deals’ can be reached if everybody stays calm and collected? You believe the Right should be willing to ‘make deals’ and concessions to those whom seek to change America? You believe the Left is being reasonable in their quest to CHANGE America?
I'd love to see "calm & collected" 100% of the time, but I know that's not reasonable. I'll settle for intellectual honesty most of the time.

I think that both ends now confuse collaboration with capitulation. The best collaboration can yield something more important -- innovation. Like our Constitution. And since both parties then have skin in the game, both parties have a vested interest in making it work. Sadly, it appears we've lost that skill, a skill that played a large role in making America great in the first place.

Is it reasonable to want changes? Sure. But it's then the tactics and behaviors in advocating for those changes that matter.
.

That’s the thing...There’s nothing confusing about it bud. Democrats are not pushing for any RESONABLE change beneficial for Americans. Can you think of one policy they are pitching that could be considered reasonable by any good real American? (I’m asking for your opinion on this one.)

He relentlessly professes the importance of communication yet he's always the first to flee when he gets uncomfortable in the dialogue exchange. It's kind of weird...really.

I just know when I'm wasting my time.

And, more importantly, I've realized that there are some people who simply lack the capacity to be a part of productive conversation.

I used to think anyone could be motivated to be honest and productive, but I've changed my mind on that.

Hopefully one day the rest of us will somehow find a way to marginalize people like you so that we can start cleaning the mess you're making.

Hey there,
Jim from Canada here. You Americans need to vote for Bernie. You might not agree with all his points, but he's truly your only option.

The United States is moving in a different direction than other democratic first world countries. The US citizens average life span is appalling among the G8, as well as life satisfaction and a slew of other metrics for how good your country is to live in.

And seriously, you guys are really embarrassing right now. Being Canadian can be fun. Foreigners wont have any idea we're not American unless we tell them (the asute foreigner will know straight away when we introduce ourselves like "Hi I'm James" instead of "Hi I'm James, would you like to see a picture of my handgun?")
But now we're forced to introduce ourselves like "Hi I'm James, I'm not American, I'm Canadian, sorry about my countries brother right now guys...."

If you wont adopt a more socialist, mixed market economy, like the rest of progressive human society, then please at least stop bragging about how awesome it is to get shafted by large insurance companies.

Now you might not agree with what Bernie says, but his heart is in the right place. You can either have that, or keep going down the shit slide. Seriously as a Canadian, who is statistically more educated and literate than you, those are your two options...
Has anyone asked you if you are wearing blackface?

No those are your two opinions, and just so you know, not all Canadians agree with your lame ass opinions.

I think Americans are tired of being lectured to by know-it-all buttinsky canadians like Jim

At least the other Canadian wants what's best for this country, not like this AH.

There are many great people in Canada

and the best of them mind their own business when it comes to political issues in America

Be more like Canada

The United States was founded in rebellion and defiance against a horrendous tyrant.

Canada was founded in cowering and grovelling before that very same tyrant.

Why would a great nation, like the U.S., founded in courage, want to be like a pathetic Gillettized nation like Canada, founded in cowardice and submission?

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom — go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!” — Samuel Adams

Embarrassed of us, are you? What if you stopped benefiting from all of our American-ness?

I'm beyond embarrassed, "Jim". You disgust me. How do you like them little green apples.

"Democratic areas" are where the vast majority of the USA's world-famous criminal violence takes place.

Thank you for pointing that out. Indeed major urban areas are hot beds of violence. Here in Canada, any one of our major cities (1 million people + is a major Canadian City) stands out for many crimes such as murder, far above the national average.
It could be argued the more populated an area is, the more violence there's going to be. This behaviour is exhibited in all forms of life: mice, ants, anything really... The more densely populated an area is, the more conflict that will arise due to competition for resources.

My theory is a bit flawed here though... Canada's most populous city, Toronto, has a murder rate comparable to a US city less than half its size. I would suggest a major contribute to this fact is hand gun possession. In Canada, this is very restricted much yo my unhappiness as i'd love a handgun. The process in order to get a license to possess one is very thorough, many are denied from past, anti-social behaviour - but even if you get it, you really can't do anything with it beside driving directly to and from the range.

But let's not forget the root problem here: Inequality. Canadians enjoy a safety net - It's not perfect, but it helps prevent a lot of people from growing up in a horrible, deprived environment. One which inevitably will lead them to the edges of society in order to survive. Generational lack of higher education, and a system which turns them out into the cold, leads to an arguably justified distrust of the system. In these children's environment, they learn a different set of rules than someone replying to assholes like myself on the internet.
The rules they learn help them survive, they are essential for someone in their socio-economic world, and run quite contrary to the norm.
We have the same exact thing here in Canada like any other country in the world.

I believe, and statistics would agree with me all day I'm sure, that the more assistance people at the bottom receive, the less prone they will be to living a life of crime.
Telling people to suck it up, and not leach of others, doesn't make their kids grow up to be good people.

Let's talk about the multitude of schools you foisted upon your indigenous people, Jimmy, and your blackface wearing PM, while you lecture us about how Righteous you are

I'm starting to seriously hate Canadians

So this country for which you obviously have no respect has - according to you - "the most qualified engineers, doctors, scientists the world over" and you believe they stay here because the place is a dump? I suppose it wouldn't occur to one such as you that those people you so admire aren't all or even mostly "progressives" (pronounced "regressives"), right?

I gather from your posts you have no idea just how stupid you are. BTW ... it's obvious.

Oh quite the opposite. It's undeniable the positive effect the United States has had on the world, and continues to have. The first real democracy in human history, listen to Christopher Hitchens brag about the states and you'll capture how I feel.
It's just in recent years that there's been a real sharp down turn of core US ideologies in both the government and popular opinion.

Human societies adopt from one another, the things that made the US great, have been replicated in other places en-mass.

No I wouldn't argue this point - I would argue that there is an urgent need for deep introspection in your country. Swindlers and demagogues rule the land.

Black and White thinking must be avoided. This isn't a trash post about the US. Just an honest opinion. There can be both good and bad things about the states at the same time.

The people of Hong Kong are waving US flags as I type in their fight for personal liberty. There is no other flag in the history of man that would be appropriate for that right now.

Unfortunately the US isn't punishing China for their actions in HK, but simply for monetary reasons, and your president barely nods at the people fighting for their freedom.

I'm sure this would disgust many of your great presidents, and it should disgust Americans.

If only the people of HK understood they could be left abandoned by their symbol of freedom like the Kurds...

Near as I can tell this was the last post Jimmy made about "our country".

We don't care what you think Jimmy. Tell ya what. Put up your own military that can defend your own nation or shut up. How bout that

Well said....I have lot of friends that went to school in Canada and migrated. Great country and great people.
As you might know, most americans don't travel abroad and they were fed the lie that they live the best lives, but in reality, they work long hours, pay too much for health care, poor education even with a college degree, high crimes.
Trust me they wont believe you, they have been brainwashed...they even vote against their own interest.

Yes, this place is horrible, that’s why radheads beg to live here, wetbacks don’t travel through to get to the great white north and negroes all go home to Africa to live that awesome life they were deprived of. This place is terrible...PLEASE spread the world to the worlds trash. Thanks in advance

Yeah.. it sucks so bad in the good ole USA that everyone and their 6,000 cousins is trying to break in to live here.

Meanwhile in Canada, the two Mounties that protect the borders from invaders died of excessive boredom.
Canada always ranks better than the US in health, education, life expectancy, safety. Crimes, and the over all well being of its citizens. Jealous ?
