America`s greatest game is a mess

Source? Specifically to back up your assertion of "most", especially given that so many homeschooled kids outperform their government schooled counterparts.
Why? You should do it as well. That's what's wrong with the right: do as I say, not as I do. :)

Home schooling is a joke too much of the tme.

Option 2 is cheaper. Not a lot of people can afford a new $400,000 home.
Sadly, even liberal municipal governments encourage the building of high-end homes that generate more property tax revenue. The cracker box starter home is a thing of the past.

What is your direct experience with homeschooling that you would know this? Have you taught your own kids at home, then tested their progress with the SOL's? Have your family members taught their kids at home and tested progress against the SOL's? You're making broad generalized complaints about homeschooling that have at their base ignorance. I do believe you've developed feelz about it and are just complaining based on them, not reality.

We put our kids into private schools, government schools and taught them at home, depending on what they wanted to do and what worked best for them at the time. We have experience with homeschooling. We've met with other homeschooling families, attended conferences and co-ops for shared educational opportunities. We know some stuff about it. We know the potential for abuse, AND we know the level of commitment it takes for parents to do it. That's one of the reasons, BTW, that homeschooled kids do so well, their parents are dedicated to their kids' success in life. They don't just treat school as a glorified babysitter.

Baseball and Basketball are barely enjoyed elsewhere
You have answered your own question .
Obviously one hesitates to say , Simple Games for Simple people . But that is it , in a nutshell.

The latter is just Height Freaks running back and forth endlessly between children's hoops . Boring AND Discriminatory .

Baseball is a game our children stop playing around 12 years of age . We call it , Rounders -- we exported it to you for nothing . Does not require guile or technique --- just too American .

These games tell you exactly why your Empire was destined to be so short lived .

So in essence you’re just full of shit.

I have had plenty of experience with homeschooling.

Most of it is a joke.

  • The home-educated typically score 15 to 25 percentile points above public-school students on standardized academic achievement tests. (The public school average is roughly the 50th percentile; scores range from 1 to 99.) A 2015 study found Black homeschool students to be scoring 23 to 42 percentile points above Black public school students (Ray, 2015).
  • 78% of peer-reviewed studies on academic achievement show homeschool students perform statistically significantly better than those in institutional schools (Ray, 2017).
  • Homeschool students score above average on achievement tests regardless of their parents’ level of formal education or their family’s household income.
  • Whether homeschool parents were ever certified teachers is not notably related to their children’s academic achievement.
  • Degree of state control and regulation of homeschooling is not related to academic achievement.
  • Home-educated students typically score above average on the SAT and ACT tests that colleges consider for admissions.
  • Homeschool students are increasingly being actively recruited by colleges.

The Dodgers just gave Shohei Ohtani a $700 million dollar contract. Where does this leave the small and mid-size markets who can`t even come close to competing with that? Baseball needs the same Socialism that the other 3 major sports have.
Did Ohtani hypnotize Dodgers management ?
$700 Million for 10 years ($70 million/year)
  • he has a lifetime batting average of .274
  • never hit more than 46 home runs in a season
  • never hit more than 100 RBIs in a season
  • That is 100 times the amount the Mickey Mantle received ($700,000/year in 2023 dollars) in 1957, after he won the TRIPLE CROWN. The previous year, Mantle hit
  • .353
  • had 52 home runs
  • had 130 RBIs
  • was an excellent fielder with great speed
Young people today simply don't know what the hell they're doing.

Oh, that's great. Now, what kind of experience do you have? Is it the kind of experience where you actually schooled your kids at home? If so, how many and what school years did you do it? Or is it the kind of experience where you felt icky about the idea that parents could keep their kids out of the reach of the government for 6 hours a day and you found some headlines that agreed with you?

It's very important to know just what kind of experience you have. When you homeschooled your kids, did you make sure they got into a co-op so they had shared learning opportunities? How about the curriculum? Did you use one that was online with qualified teachers on the other end ready to step in and help your kids when they got stuck on something? We did and it was a great help.

nheri.org makes it quite clear that home schooling needs to step up its game.
What specifically do they say that gives you the ickies? The mere fact that you need to go to their website tells me that you in fact do NOT have much direct experience with homeschooling but have a pre-set bias for which you're seeking confirmation.

hadit made an inclusive supportive statement on behalf of homeschooling with evidence from the association that makes a fortune of home schooling.

My extensive interaction with home schooled students had convinced me that most home schooling is subpar.

No, hadit did not make such a statement. hadit made a statement about homeschooling from direct experience. The slow one, OTOH, (that's you in case you're unclear) made a statement referencing an organization's website, but then failed to specify what it was on the web site that he/she/it found objectionable.
My extensive interaction with home schooled students had convinced me that most home schooling is subpar.
Now, John Edgar Slow Horses claims to have had "extensive interaction with home schooled students". Obviously, he/she/it never schooled a student at home or would have cited that as the experience. Thus far, the stated "experience" consists of, what, running into a half dozen or so people who said they were homeschooled and whose opinions on some sacred cows did not meet with your approval?

hadit told you where his experience comes from. John Edgar Slow Horses hasn't said diddly about where his/her's/its comes from.

hadit is wrong. Tough. Closed.

This is about baseball.
Oh, now that you've lost the argument, you want to go back to the topic. Okay, go back to baseball knowing that you lost on homeschooling. You never even tried to bolster your argument. Sad, really.

I think American education is in great trouble because parents are not involved in public ed, but then they screw so badly in home schooling.
