The Dodgers just gave Shohei Ohtani a $700 million dollar contract. Where does this leave the small and mid-size markets who can`t even come close to competing with that? Baseball needs the same Socialism that the other 3 major sports have.

Actually, the Dodgers are betting on socialist policies.

They are only paying him 20 million over the ten years of the contract and deferring the other 680 million to the ten years after that.

With proper socialist mismanagement of the economy, and continued high rate of inflation, the amount he will actually be getting is considerably less.

MLB also has a revenue-sharing system. And, after the negotiated CBA deal in 2022, it also includes TV deals.

It`s Capitalism, not socialism that creates inflation. You`re a little bit confused, home school.

Wasn't the fixation on 'stadium sports' one of the hallmarks of the fall of Rome?

Capitalism: Building your house the way you want it to be.

Socialism: Getting together with others to help build houses for everyone that all look the same.

How did the low market teams do in getting into the playoffs.

Plenty of parity, bub.

It is pumping money into the economy for socialist programs responsible for the inflation we have experienced since Xiden took office.

Don't they teach you ANYTHING about economics there in China?

Of course it makes sense.

When you infuse more money into an economy for people to purchase the same amount of goods, the goods become more expensive.

You can't just print money and hand it out like candy without affecting the overall economy.
But that is not what is happening. This is not socialism.

Neither system creates inflation. Governments create it by printing fiat money.

The inherent value of a loaf of bread hasnt gone up, the value of the money we use in trade to get that bread has gone down.

And couchpotatoe is once more corrected.

No, fiat money is not the only way to inflate the currency. Inflation can also occur due to other factors such as increased demand for goods and services, decreased supply of goods and services, and changes in the exchange rate between currencies 1.

For instance, if the demand for goods and services increases, the prices of these goods and services will rise, leading to inflation. Similarly, if the supply of goods and services decreases, the prices of these goods and services will rise, leading to inflation. Changes in the exchange rate between currencies can also lead to inflation, as a weaker currency will lead to higher import prices, which will increase the prices of goods and services 1.

Neither socialism or capitalism does that though does it?

And changing exchange rates between currencies only happen due to the fact that they are fiat money. If the money were on the gold standard the yen's value in relation to the dollar or the pound would remain constant. The variation between the values of those monies only changes because they aren't tied to anything real.

The inflation we have all come to accept is almost entirely due to the printing and thus devaluation of the money over time.
