After Indiana Pizzeria Said They Wouldn’t Cater Gay Weddings, the Backlash Was So Extreme

I love it when bad things happen to stupid people

A business goes out of its way to offend people and then act shocked about the backlash

What were they thinking?
They didn't go out of their way to do anything. A roving reporter stopped by and stuck a microphone into the face of the teenage daughter of the owner. It's not like the pizza place called a press conference. The reporter intended to create this storm.

THAT sentence sets up a DELICIOUS Irony.

What our conservative friends do very well is accusing others of doing what they're guilty of. Their tired talking point always goes something like, "I am against special rights for anybody". If you think our LGBT friends are asking for special rights, then you're drinking the right-wing koolaid on this one.

Meanwhile, what this RFRA does is grant special rights for some people in the free market to discriminate against others in the free market.

Does it? In truth, the 1st amendment of the US Constitution is all that is required to understand the situation.

Let's review:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

All the Religious Freedom Restoration Act does is to say that "people who are NOT bright enough to understand the protections afforded to sustain the God-given inalienable rights by the Constitution, should be advised that they are idiots and here's why..."

This is why major corporations have come forward with their dissent of the law, which on its face is stupid and unconstitutional.

So, you feel that the US Constitution is unconstitutional?

ROFLMNAO! (Reader, you can't BUY that brand of idiocy)

It's absurd that free-market chest-thumping right-wingers are actually defending the idea that it would be good for business to refuse some people business. Once that gets around, your business is doomed.

What is it about "Free Market" that you people are incapable of grasping? Here's a clue... it does NOT mean that everything in the market is FREE. Does that help?

On the matter of the pizzeria, who the fuck orders pizza for their weddings other than cowpokes in rural Indiana? Most LBGT'ers don't have kids so they've got money to spend on weddings. You can be sure they don't order pizza!

People who know that the pizza vendor is Christian and want to abuse them through the illicit use of the law... toward the goal of advancing a political point, you know... people like you; fascists.

LOL!

Now Reader, let's revisit how she began her tempest... enjoy:

ROFLMNAO! How cool is THAT?

Open your mind. The religious argument for slavery is equivalent to the religious argument against homosexuality. According to your idea, running someone into the ground for expressing religious beliefs promoting slavery means you are not in the land of the free.

So you're saying that you believe Slaves were enslaved because they were compelled to toil under mind-bending tyranny by a perverse craving to act in ways injurious to themselves and others, wherein such is rationalized to be normal and within reasonable parameters for a viable life?

ROFL! SERIOUSLY?

Clearly that was the case - and that's what all of this is about -- manufactured controversy and trying to feel agreived. Most of what is being said about this law is not true.

Also interesting that the CBS affiliate who the reporter worked for originally put up a false headline -- that the restaurant refused to serve gays and had to take it down. That leaves them seriously potentially exposed to a libel action - they certainly caused harm to the business and the owners. Be interesting to see if they get sued. These cases can be tough against the media but there could be real exposure here

Interesting post from a guy who at times has called for violent revolution.

I haven't called for violent revolution Gilligan.

I have merely noted that violence is the natural consequence of Left-think; wherein the people subjected to sufficient doses of such, will inevitably destroy the purveyors of such, as a last ditch effort to avoid their own destruction and to provide the possibility that their children will not be destroyed by it... .

You act as if there's an option. What would that be? (Reader, brace yourself for some variation of "Peace, Love and Dope" from the purveyors of 'SELL ME PIZZA TO PROMOTE UNBRIDLED SEXUAL DEVIANCY OR WE WILL BURN YOUR SHOP DOWN!'. Which you'll no doubt recognize as little more than abject evil... .)

Yep... Given the right representation, I can see a case pushing through the affiliate to the network, given the network's pattern of behavior, rendering the potential for punitive DEEP into 8, possibly 9 figures with the right jury. With 9 figures at trial, that would be reduced on appeal to 7 and 8 figures to 7 or tall 6s.) THAT ALONE would alter the medias bias... and BUT QUICK! I can't see it being worth any or certainly much less than 10 million. The reporting is clearly done with malice and it is just as clear, from the evidence of our own little micro-community here, that there is plenty of evidence to see that such reporting is reasonably expected to damage the business... thus usurping the means of not only the owners, but the employees to exercise their constitutionally protected rights. Not including the demonstrable financial losses.

A lawsuit by any well established / funded firm would, if the court found cause, likely produce an immediate high five figure settlement offer.

This nonsense has now shot into the sublimely absurd.

It's not your god given right to deny service to someone based on a discriminatory basis you fucking clown.

It quite literally is.
Two problems. One, you'd have to prove that God actually exits, and no one can. Two, you'd have to prove that he gave you rights or would even bother in this case, and no one can. Besides that, great argument.

that shows the IN-tolerance of the progressive/left. this country is sinking into madness because of them

Uh, yeah... And that madness is precisely the mental disorder which presents sexual abnormality, which is the same one that induces the rationalization that one is entitled to the property of another, based upon their NEED. As the last 50 years of our own history have proven, the two are quite literally, inseparable; which is to say they're the same dam' thing.

Which is again, the reason that Homosexuals have spent 99.99999~% of human history in the closet. Because every time that they've been allowed out, the WRECK THE PLACE. Now... the fact is that its the liberalism that allows them out. But, liberalism comes on slowly, like rot... and it's very difficult to see rot, as it occurs... because it occurs in places where people aren't paying attention. Homosexuality however is the stank-ass mold that DEMONSTRATES THE ROT... so it's hard to miss. And after its destroyed whatever it set upon, people tend to be mindful of the rot, so the rot tends to exist only in the darkest places, behind the locked doors, where people rarely go.

Who has pizza at a wedding reception?

Well, when Homosexuals were locked in the closet, they tended to put the energy that is typically used to pursue sexual gratification into productive pursuits... thus they excelled in production, which generally equates to a positive cash flow.

Since the Gay-opening... they're now free to pursue ... so production is off, thus cashflow is down... ergo: Wedding Pizza.

That and they weren't really interested in a Wedding pizza as much as a story over which to scratch someone's eyes out.

I hope that the pizza place goes broke and the people who are against homosexuals have to end up working for them.

Bigotry and discrimination have no place in the land of the free.

Why can't we allow people to be free to be who they are?

Sorry.........but you can't catch gay. You're either born that way or not.

How dare people be free in the land of the free?
