Just as the man who wrecked the world - G W Bush - said, the power of the US presidency is addictive. Trump is experiencing a very extreme dopamine (natural 'feel good' brain chemical) rush from the reality of extreme power and the praise he receives as validation of his power, judgement and all round greatness. This has always been the case in his life. Many times he has been a seedy bottom-feeder in his quest for dopamine. Now, he has the presidency, and potential supply is unlimited. Unfortunately, as with all feel-good drugs the addict needs more and more. Bigger bombs, more "events" as he calls them.
What a sad nation it now is. The only benefit would be if this whole Orange Mascot disaster started and sustained a discussion about MASSIVE POLITICAL REFORM. But it won't. As soon as Trump leaves office there will the usual 'rapid healing' that just shows what a thoughtless and shallow culture (culture??) America possesses. It is shallow because it relies on symbolism, and symbolism is the absence of thought.
How can America improve? What help can it get from inside when the inside is rotten? Again, how can America wean itself off shallow symbolism?
