Just as the man who wrecked the world - G W Bush - said, the power of the US presidency is addictive. Trump is experiencing a very extreme dopamine (natural 'feel good' brain chemical) rush from the reality of extreme power and the praise he receives as validation of his power, judgement and all round greatness. This has always been the case in his life. Many times he has been a seedy bottom-feeder in his quest for dopamine. Now, he has the presidency, and potential supply is unlimited. Unfortunately, as with all feel-good drugs the addict needs more and more. Bigger bombs, more "events" as he calls them.

What a sad nation it now is. The only benefit would be if this whole Orange Mascot disaster started and sustained a discussion about MASSIVE POLITICAL REFORM. But it won't. As soon as Trump leaves office there will the usual 'rapid healing' that just shows what a thoughtless and shallow culture (culture??) America possesses. It is shallow because it relies on symbolism, and symbolism is the absence of thought.

How can America improve? What help can it get from inside when the inside is rotten? Again, how can America wean itself off shallow symbolism?

America fix its self by getting away from liberterianism and investing in our own people.

Fix education
Invest more into science
Stay out of wars
Adopt single payer
Enforce the anti-trust laws

The rich can't be taking 90%+ of all new wealth without causing serious problems with ones ability of upwards mobility.

i am thinking this is a rather self hating question.I remember the likes of Kennedy and his warlord right hand creepoid el sepreemo, Bob McNamara, architect of the Vietnam war. Even HE KNEW after 6 months we couldn't possibly have ever won the thing. But Democrats and Republicans kept kicking that can down that eventual road.

Well, since the Democrats are utterly useless mayhap you can elect some better clowns to congress? People that bring more to the table than I hate Trump.

Trump has discovered the cupboard with the military in it.
Pundits and cheerleaders telling him that dropping bombs makes him look presidential is just the validation and encouragement he needs.
It's hard not to be pessimistic.

And Obama didn't. Move along Cowgirl.

I'm not going to defend Obama but he didn't simply react to something he saw on Fox News that morning by dropping a bomb on someone.
Trump lives for applause and he's found the easiest and funnest way to get it.
