Austerity or Stimulus? Americans Want BOTH, Survey Says | Daily Ticker - Yahoo! Finance

Here are some of the findings of the survey, courtesy of Politico's Morning Money:
•81% of respondents say the national debt is a major problem that must be addressed now.
•86% of respondents agree reducing the deficit would help the economy.
•87% of respondents believe that to solve the long-term debt problem, Republicans will have to agree to some tax increases and Democrats will have to agree to some spending cuts..
•53% of respondents would be more likely to support a candidate for Congress if they knew that the candidate supported a bipartisan agreement that included both spending cuts and tax increases.
•76% of middle class voters believe that the middle class should contribute to the solution.

76% of the middle class was willing to have their taxes raised

Wow.. some people want other people to have to pay for things and services while they pay nothing themselves...

you want tax increases... bring every last citizen up to the same highest tax % paid by the top earners.... funny thing is.. I bet at that point, you would have more people screaming for tax cuts and a decrease in government spending.... a lot different when YOU actually have a stake in the game, not playing with someone else's ante

Um... that is Austerity. You are saying the people want to cut spending and increase taxes. That's the exact same austerity programs European nations are pursuing.

Conservatives, however, want to cut spending and cut taxes. We want Americans to work less for the government and more for themselves. We believe that people can make better choices about their wants and needs than the government can.

When you cut spending and cut taxes, economic growth explodes. When we followed this policy it was the one time in our recorded history that we had 2% unemployment.

Fucking lying twatsicle

76% of middle class voters believe that the middle class should contribute to the solution.

Not exactly what you asserted.... as the middle class already contributes to the 'solution' thru federal income taxes.. unlike the ~47% beneath them

One of these things is not like the other,
One of these things just doesn't belong,
See if you can tell which one is different,
Before I get to the end of the song.

That's what Pub dupes want. Unfortunately, Pubs NEVER cut spending!! Just take all the money and power, and leave us recessions and depressions, and holding the bag. Thieves and liars. see sig.:cuckoo::eusa_liar::lol:

I said conservatives. Unfortunate there are enough progressive Republicans and cowards in the leadership to prevent this.

do you suggest they thought the poll was talking about them giving blood to fix the problem?

Middle class people voting to have middle class taxes raised means what?

where have they voted to have their taxes raised?

Why are you not addressing that the very quotes you are using show that people want austerity despite the fact that its not a good idea since it raises taxes?
